Please guys...Just a quick one. Can I use someone who is a Canadian citizen as my sponsor? The person is willing to send sponsorship letter. If so, what other documents should the person send? Thanks in anticipation guys.
Beside sponsorship letter, the person should also send you his statement of account showing sufficient amount to cover for your first year tuition and living expense, data page of his international passport, evidence of legal status in Canada, and a proof of your relationship with him/her.

Good morning everyone.
May this new week bring favor to all TRV hopefuls.
May those who have had their PPR get their passports soon to enable them travel.
May those already in Canada find favor in their pursuits (school, housing, feeding, etc)
May God help us all.
And may the Universe be kind to us all.

Amen!!!

Y'all have a great week.

Remember it shall all end in praise.

Hello house

Please is there any other means of contacting the CIC. I have been emailing them as regards to my application that will complete 12 months by June 1, no decision has been made on my application yet not even medical request... 12 months its so frustrating. I don’t think there’s anyone here whose application is as old as mine.. if I can sue this CIC honestly I would. I just need a decision at this moment be it positive or negative I don’t care anymore. I need this decision to get back my tuition fee if the outcome is negative. My admission letter has expired and my school will not refund my tuition fee until they see a refusal letter from CIC..I’m tired please I need help.. I have been emailing CIC 3 times a weeks for the last one month no respond..

My own chip in
She should move to Ottawa or Toronto for summer ONLY to work. If she has any friends (that lives in an apartment) or family member that can accommodate her for the season

Work experience is very very important here.

Relocating to Toronto or Ottawa is highly crazy in terms of cost of living so I will advise her not to relocate.

Her resume should be in Canadian standard, her friends can help her with it, her school employment supports can also help her with it, indeed can also help her with it. But I would advise she should go through school employment supports or friends formats. She should also write a very good ready-made cover letter so whatever work she wants to apply for she would just do a little editing.

In Ottawa ”PeopleReady” employs every day And they have jobs that pay $22 per hr in this summer.

If she wants to come to Ottawa, she should call them and book an appointment with them. then she will be interviewed and write an exam. After the exam, they will congratulate her.

There are surplus jobs in Toronto, Ottawa and BC but the cost of living is maad.

Thank you for the information. I believe she has a well crafted resume and cover letter (though with limited work experience), as she has worked with her school's Career Services and other local employment agency in Windsor. I'm not oblivious of the importance of having Canadian experience in job search, but you will agree with me that it is financially straining schooling in Canada for 8 months without income. She just joined this thread and can see all this useful information you guys have been dishing out to aid her job search.

On Transferring to location with better job prospect, we have looked into schools and apartments in Toronto and found that while the cost of living and tuition might be higher there, the income you get by working in Toronto or Ottawa can go a long way in offsetting the cost of living in those two locations. In addition, the Canadian work experience is also vital for post graduation job hunt.

We know no one in Ottawa but she is open to moving there if she finds a comparable program to what she is studying in Windsor. The problem is she can't tell her landlord in Windsor to pause while she is on a job hunt to Toronto or Ottawa. Plus she will need a temporary place to stay to look for jobs in Toronto or Ottawa.

Thank you for the advice!

Wow, well i think this is a new development or applies to departments and all, as i got a conditional admission letter at first in february for masters in Public Administration stating that i send in my official transcripts and certificate without asking for a deposit, after i sent in the documents i received my unconditional admission letter in April still with no request of any deposit.

If you are requested to do so, i advice you do just that since it is clearly stated in your admission letter and the VO might be wondering why you didn't do that.

My thought though.

johnsonlawson89:
This is what is in the offer letter @kcosam

Dear Johnson:

Congratulations! The International Enrolment Services Office is pleased to inform you that you have gained admission to the University of Regina. This letter is for submission for your study permit; please ensure to keep a copy for your records. International students on a study permit are required to pay a $500 tuition deposit upon acceptance of admission. Once payment is made, a receipt will be provided that can be included with your study permit application.

Have you ordered GCMS notes? Many applications from June to August being handled at the London office is still under review. I will advise you get your GCMS notes first before taking decision.
I have read of some you got approval after 14months and also of some who don't denied after 11months. Just get your GCMS notes ok.

Oga boss what bout in a situation whereby PA have no travel history and criminal conviction and got refused in background checks?

Could it be in background checks maybe they also distribute the documents to the appropriate department for checks then gather the findings to the primary VO to assess if the PA meets the study requirements
??
Well, sometimes they do eligibility review without updating it in MYCIC account but I've seen some application in this forum that doesn't stay 2 weeks and got refused in background checks

Majority of applicants do pass their background checks, which can be attested from their GCMS NOTE after a visa refusal. It's very rare to see an applicant who failed this criminal inspection. Meanwhile, it's after the background checks by CBSA that the documents will then be sent to the visa officer's GCMS database for a complete review and a decision to be made on the application. In some cases, eligibility review might start without any update on the applicant's MyCIC account, this doesn't insinuates that the applicant failed their criminal checks, somewhat the blame at times goes to the unexpected system glitch which takes time for the update to be uploaded. Above all, there is no blueprint for this visa processing thingy as applicant's cases differs in spite of the fact that we try our best to gather precise details from successful applicant's timeline.

Hi Frankrobbn1, could you please explain the parts in bold to me. It sort of contradicts what I know. Do you mean that first applications so not need to submit fingerprints? Aren't fingerprints a part of the biometric identification? Also if they do not submit fingerprints, as a form of biometrics, what then is valid for 10 years?
Thank you.

My bad! That was a typo. cry, I meant to say if it was the applicant first time of applying for a temporary resident visa to Canada, then he/she is expected to submit their fingerprint at the visa application centre (VAC) and pay the required fees of 85$ prior to application submission. On the basis that it is the second application, then he/she isn't suppose to submit their fingerprints as the previous refused application details including the biometrics is valid until a decade.

Thanks Bracha for calling to my attention!

Good morning boss, answer to your questions can easily be found on school website.
Search for the school you are interested in, program of choice and you will know if there is a co-op option for that program.
Please, i also need some guidance on this. If there is a co-op option for one's intended program, what should be the next step?
