Lol safe trip. Quora has more experienced and well off contributors compared to Nairaland . On quota you have ex-african expatriates , people with experience living & working in 1st , 2nd , 3rd world countries , retired consultants/experts. A good percentage of contributors on Nairaland are disgruntled youths who hardly analyse things from a rational point of view which makes Quora a preferred forum (my opinion)
quora was cool before intact I do spend hours reading quora but I think people lie on that app to much

May be a couple of over/under emphasis here and there but in terms of quality you can’t compare the content found on quora with that on Nairaland. However quora contributors have an option of displaying a title/summary and from what I’ve noticed most of the contributors are way above 30s, from a mix of geographical backgrounds and professionals . On The other hand most contributors you find on Nairaland sound like youths who are unemployed or underemployed with so much hate and at times an open display of ignorance . A mix of both ( quora and Nairaland) can be helpful though .

Yea that’s why I advise people to throw out their questions there irrespective of the knowledge I have gained from Nairaland in the past. Quora will provide more realist answers on issues related to immigration and education as you have two categories of contributors on Nairaland regarding immigration 1. First category have never left the shores of Nigeria or have only travelled a few times on short visits. They see nothing other than the neat streets / shopping malls/restaurants. They have little or no experience Living and working in these societies and will always be pro- move to the west irrespective of individual circumstances. 2. Second category are our contributors who reside in the west and try so hard to make readers feel they are having the best careers in the west and how nigeria is a shithole and all. Both category of contributors tend to be bias and easily insult anyone who analyses issues from a different perspective.
Regarding education, most contributors seem to value education based on the ability to migrate to a country through the study option and for them the country that offers the best education is whatever country that offers a joint permanent residence after studying package. While the Indians , chinese and others use education as a tool/ asset to get ahead in life , the average Nairaland contributor sees education from the perspective of pay the fees , study , secure residence and migrate . In the late 80s the likes of segun agbaje, banigo , Jim ovia, Ben Bruce, onubogu and many others used knowledge gained from the west as a tool to get ahead and also influence many positively. Today for many it has become an achievement to be a citizen of a colonial power.

Speak for yourself. Migration or 1st world work experience may be valuable to you but not to everyone. It has never been a requirement for top African jobs. Some of us looked forward to making a good living out of opportunities in Africa and I never submitted a job application in any of the two countries I studied in with no regret.

No regrets because you like 1% of Africans have a "Top African Job"

A word of advise; Public forums/topics like this are for the ones trying to find their way.

I like your viewpoint on Nigeria.Kudos to your parents and many Nigerian parents who sent their kids through American and British schools without a student loan like what we have here. That Escape nightclub surprised that if you don’t have 2-3k dollars you cannot enter there. If you open that kind of place in my city here in America you may not see a single person in a month because most Americans do not earn up to that monthly.American white racist succeeded in painting Africa as full of poverty and some who watch only tv and google believe those racists hook line and sinker.I spent more money supporting my mum and siblings back home than now. They make you think you have a good job and life but taxes and bills can those away in a jiffy and if you are not good with your hands or in the stem field you will move from driving Mercedes to homelessness. My top client back in Naija died last week and his estate is worth millions,no other lawyer knows how that man’s mind worked except me.You can never make that kind of money here in America. The only good thing here is the American work experience which would be good for Nigeria

All these migration is not worth it.Its just a waste of time you could have used to better your life.America is not built for the black man.Financial slavery have replaced chains whether its student loans debt or mortgage.Nobody owns anthing outrightly like in Nigeria.IRS can take away everything you have in a jiffy. That's why most black people here work all their lives and retire poor

The UNITED STATES did not beg you to enter their land. Your home is Nigeria. Instead of complaining, go back to your home. There are many Nigerians succeeding in the US, but you are one of the failures. There is no shame in going back to your home, if you cannot make it in America. Some Nigerians go to America and think they are going to find a gold mine, but soon realize Nigeria did not prepare them for the American system. They may even find out they have a mental illness, that makes them incompetent in the American system. They think they are being cunny by marrying American women, but they soon see the hunted become the hunter. Such people should go back to Nigeria and face their future.

I think that escape ended up closing down, but that kind of club would be considered upscale here in America . Would not survive in average income neighborhood.

You are probably one of the failures. I have been in the US for over 37 years. Nigerians come here unprepared and try to game the American system. It doesn't work here. A degree is not going to give you favor on a job, if you have no experience. Many Nigerians are walking around with learning disabilities, that won't hinder them in Nigeria due to nepotism. But in the US, they cannot sustain a good job because they are not fit for the mental tasks. If you can't survive in America, it's best to return to where you were surviving.

I’m very far from being a failure , it’s obvious that you are nut case. Go and see treatment cause you are not mentally welll.
