The Federal Government of Nigeria, has ordered the closure of four foreign missions abroad due to lack of funds.

Geoffrey Onyeama, the minister of foreign affairs said on Tuesday that the missions are Sri-lanka, Serbia, Ukraine and Czech Republic.

The minister who may exit President Muhmmadu Buhari's administration at the end of the month said the closure was because the government could not fund the missions anymore.

Insensitivity, complacency and parochial decisions are enemies of international diplomacy.

Is the government not aware that aside from Russia, Ukraine has the highest number of Nigerians studying medicine abroad?

Jus listen to dis incredulous news... So we want to close d embassy in Ukraine dat is home to so many Nigerian medical students but still retain embassies in countries like Iran or even some of these useless African countries

We need at least a consulate in Ukraine.

Everything is Not about religious bais,grow up,those countries u talked about if they are had value and productive to Nigeria, the missions will not be shut down,or can u tell us any major benefits or resources Nigeria has gained from these countries in bilateral trades ?

Whereas money is always available for travel and hosting any jolly jolly events..we pay your 1688 suppliers..

It is better to close them than have poorly maintained embassies.
