Hello guys... I just saw this https://www.customs.gov.ng/Publications/news_results.php?NewsID=136 and it made me wonder about their emphasis on where the support staff are to report to. Which brings me to ask, are these support staff vacancies different from that for "regular" NCS officers? If so, how different? Thanks.

These are the people that will assist in the training process not necessarily Customs officer, can be from other agencies appointed just to facilitate in the training exercise just like having Soldiers in NYSC camp ground that does not make them corpers.

Please don't mislead the lady. Support staffs are full time customs officials, just like the name suggests they support the regular officers( General duty). They keep the organization running e.g the technicians ( electrician, computer/ IT guys and the administrators, now what I don't know is if same process regarding recruitment and training applies to both support staff and general duty.

A candid question. the support staff are generally what the police would call specialists. they are not usually posted or transferred around the departments like the general duty officers. to be sure you cannot attain certain ranks as a general duty officer because as a support staff u are generally confined to one department - wit regards to ur speciality - but in the end some are able to transit to general duty officers
