Ok,your responses to some questions are verbose?

Do you have any friends in the US? Just say NO
A lot of people from your home are probably more of relatives...that's long-windedness!(delete that part)
How did you find out about the school?
Through my cousin,an alumni of the school, who waxed lyrical about the numerous opportunities such as xxxx and Xxxx and Bleep the school offered when he returned back.His/her knowledge/skill gained allow him/her to secure mouth watery employment.

Please:Hope you know the full name of your cousin. The VO may ask.

Why are you planning to continue your education now?
Your responses are generic..

This is another way of asking: what are your career plans?
To answer this you need to have a career plan..do you?
Since you are currently working you can say this:
After graduation I planned to work for 2/3 years and thereafter go for my masters to consolidate on my experiences in the corporate industry. The masters program will mould me as an expert by addressing the problems of health communication in Nigeria.

*Mind you you should know some of this problems..

Or if there is a recent opportunity at your work place you want to key into you can say this:

Currently,my company is considering revamping health communication and there will be open opportunities when I return back to Naija. It will be a supervisory position and I will love to join the new departments to solve their problems and help drive results...

Work on why you chose GU?Those points are generic.
Ok,look for something unique in the school that relates to you in your faculty in the school.
Look for research,look for innovations.
Check what makes the course synopsis stand out.

Hi friends
Firstly, I'm 24 and only have an OND, which i don't intend to use at all. What are my chances of getting a study permit as an undergraduate?
Must my sponsor be a family member?
How much does my sponsor need to have in account before i am considered?
Can i work to support my tuition if giving an admission?
Can i also change my course completely to a different department after the admissions?
Please assist

At 24 , you should be thinking of a Masters not Undergraduate. It is better you do a Bsc in Nigeria and go for your masters afterwards.

Don't waste your money on applications, Sevis and Visa bookings only to get straight denial.

At 24, he has OND already? After a Bsc he’s not 24 anymore. Your advice should not have been drawn from his age. He can go for a Bsc at 24 nothing is wrong with that.

Your responses are fair enough. Keep in mind that questions begat questions, and be ready to explain the little you know about IoT. I was more attracted when I saw that terminology because it's an exciting area to me as well.

Please Gurus in the house, help me scrutinize my propose transcript especially these key areas;

VO: Where are you going?
Me: I plan to pursue my Masters in Telecommunication and Networking Engineering at Florida International University

VO: Why FIU?
Me: It is an excellent school of technology, highly ranked in telecommunication while others school i applied to offer pure telecommunication, FIU offers double honor in telecommunication and networking but more importantly, the school curriculum aligns with my career goal and i got interested in papers written by Professor Xudong HE and Professor Geoffrey smith about IOT (Internet of things) which is the branch of telecommunication i’m really interested in

VO: Why Telecommunication Engineering?
Me: Telecommunication Engineering is a course i’ve always admired since my childhood, learning the principles of wireless communication is what have had great interest in and am more compelled now that ever with the introduction of IOT and it’s application to various industry which seem to be the new wave right now, FIU is the first school that offers IOT in undergraduate level

VO: How many schools did you apply to and name them?
Me: 4 schools, Florida International University Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Denver and George washington University

VO: How did you get to know about FIU?
Me: I did extensive research online on school that offers telecommunication and networking engineering, FIU happens to be my best fit as i got interested in the school program

VO: You finished high school your first degree 2011, what have you been doing since then?
Me: I went for my compulsory NYSC after which i got a job in xyz company in 2014 as telecoms field engineer. I work there till now

VO: What’s your plan after the program
Me: I plan coming back home to my present job in an elevated position and use the skills learnt to start my IOT company here in Nigeria

VO:

cc bracelum, fairheart, time2win, brown2green, Lagosismyhome and everyone i fail to mention, i need your input on this so i can re-adjust to something more appealing

So it’s fair enough? Or do i need to edit and rephrase some parts. I have noted some people that corrected me, please i need more. Thanks

Immediately I called my uncle and explained what happened, he told me come immediately, went to the bank and Got his two fixed deposits of 10M and 15M plus his bank statement balance of 1.4M my fee requirement was 13.5M.

I called time2win and asked him if fixed deposit was a liquid fund because the Bank Manager said the F.D was Open Market, I said yes that F.D was accepted but he wasn't too sure if it was a liquid fund. I used it like that anyways submitting the documents the same day.

I was placed on A.P when I checked my status on Tuesday. This afternoon my status changed to ISSUED!

Actually, there are different ways to say "shut up." Besides that, there is cultural difference. Telling a foreigner to shut up and telling a Nigerian to shut will generate two very different reactions.

On top of it, I read the transcript, it seems he deserved the shut ups. There was some "shut up," there was also some "listen to me."

But it all doesn't matter now, baba don collect Visa.

Two positions for new Ph.D. students are currently available. Candidates should have a B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, and, preferably, a good background in communication systems, optics and photonics, and applied mathematics.

How to apply
Please send an email with your resume and transcripts to Prof. Ioannis Roudas at ioannis.roudas@montana.edu

Hmmmmmm. Where will I start from? God was really involved in my admission process and visa.
I was initially denied by the school I picked (University of Missouri, Columbia). I wrote to the graduate coordinator and asked why I was denied they said my overall Gp was low, so I told them that on the school site it was said that the Gp would be based on the last two years. They said they would review my application again, and behold I was accepted.

My profile
CGPA: 3.01/5
GRE: 303
IELTS: 7.5

You probably have never been at the top rung of the corperate world! You probably have not been under a choleric Boss. You probably don't know the corperate world leadership circle sometimes employ harsh rhetoric and tactic to get in to people's head to get the job done and deliver expected result! Yet, men of calmness climb the rung and reach the top!

If you don't want to accept some sort of embarrassment, insults, or arrogance--in the process of pursuing and attaining your dreams--you cannot attain those dreams and be successful. Do you know the VO would have been more enraged and then issue refusal if the student had reacted negatively or said something awful in return to the "shut up"? But he was calm and took the "shut up" as though, "well, I have been told something more bad before now. It is fine!" This is what it means to be psychologically calm in the midst of a system that is set up to catch visa applicant with intention to migrate to the US!

Life is not about what we deserve, for if we did not create ourselves, we deserve nothing! Life is about what we want and what you want to give, and your attitude to the challenges you'll face in getting and giving those things.
