Day 2

Today was pretty cool. It rained throughout the morning. Class started a little after 1:0 pm. It lasted for more than 2 hours which was our agreed duration per class. My instructor was impressed on my practice and we used what i practiced on to practice other tags and functions.

I was given an assignment to build two pages of forms. So that will preoccupy most of night.

Picture below is a screenshot of what we did today.

Put you through?? The problem is people are too lazy and have no idea what they want so they ask to be taught an entire language on a social media platform which is just ridiculous.

You call it lazy? Don't be too quick to conclude. Had a programming class wayback too, and I feel a gentle brush through can be beneficial

My next class should have been on Monday but we shifted it to tuesday because i have an important engagement on monday. My instructor is pretty cool and flexible with schedules. I like that smiley smiley

Morning bro, just graded from the uni, instead of wasting one year away all in the name of NYSC, I'd love to enrol under an instructor like yours as I also got distracted alot when I decided on learning programming on my own few years back. Which state are you based?

I will miss class today.

Today is really a bad day. The machinist I am working with messed up my material. Instruction is to cut the cylinder 18 inches but he cut it 12.5inches. I got to his workshop and got tired. He just messed this stainless cylinder. I am going to stay with him to be sure he follows the remaining instructions. So no web design class for me today, mtcheew!!!

Anyway, tomorrow is another class

Java is good. It teaches good oop practices upfront. Python and other "easier" languages can inculcate some bad habits which you'll have to unlearn when working on large scale professional systems. What's ur pgd in and was ur bsc related to computing?
Advice: ditch sololearn and cheap android books. Buy /download full books.
Python is only easier to read.... It's implementation of algorithm doesn't change as that of other languages.

...today was a cool day. We had a class. My cousin joined me. He started his class around 9am and had a crash course on HTML. Then by 1pm I arrived for the class. My class was delayed for 1 hours because my instructor had another class he was handling. So I used the 1 hours to take my cousin on HTML. He is really learning fast. We practiced for some time and by 2pm we started the class with our instructor. We did CSS and used it to do some pretty stuffs with the little knowledge we have on HTML. Our class ended some minutes after 4pm.

Unfortunately I got to the house very late because there was an accident on the road. A trailer carrying a heavy equipment lost control, fell and blocked the road. Thank God no life was lost.

...I am beginning to love this IT class. Its fun but its really eating into my schedule. Today we had another class and It was pretty cool. We did more work on CSS and then layouting the site. oh! I can't wait to start my python class.

Yes, i have a question to ask. Though i want to learn Python programming, my intention was not to use it for web development. In the web development, i wish to learn PHP, javascript... Now my instructor adviced me to start off web development with pyhton and leave PHP. To him, it will be better to learn python and use it for web development and whatever i want to use it for, than learning PHP, javascript (which are also programming language) for web development and then fall back to start pyhton. Thats a very long long journey. According to him, its better i master one programming language and master it very well, and that will take me timeeeeeeee. Since its python, i should face pyhton squarely.

So what do you think about the advice?

Pic: the outcome of what we did today. We laid out our site into different divisions and styled it with CSS. How do you see it?

l don't think you can do without javascript for frontend web development. Python is popular for the web but not as popular as javascript or PHP from my findings so far.
However l also agree with your instructor on this, you can't learn everything at once, but I'll say after learning Html and css, learn any of the popular javascript frameworks (like React, Jquery, or Angular next). Then cap it up with Python's Django, Pyramid, Web2py or Flask.
You can use the Django Rest framework for Restful Api's, with Javascript's React at the front end.
When it comes to the web, there's a lot to learn, there's also sql for your database management, just take it one at a time.

Thank you for your contribution. Yes, he is saying a lot about JavaScript, jquery, SQL,... I really can't put those things together. I will just take things one after the other. Our next class after this CSS is bootstrap. After that, another thing. He is always saying, practice and practice on your own ohh.. smiley
