Depression and suicide are not in God's plan for us.

How can this be? I find this so blasphemous.

Depression is mostly due to life situations that are man made and results to suicide which is devilish.
Take for instance, a girl who falls into depression from heart break, kills herself. You going to put the blame on God? Really?

God is a just God. He's given us free hand to choose on how to live.

When you choose to let the light of God to shine in your heart, there will be no room for darkness.

Depression and suicide are not of God. They're from the devil. The father of darkness.

Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

When you see ministers do things and you start wondering if God exists expecially if he/she converted you.

THERE'S THIS WILD DOG THAT I NEEDED TO GET RID OF. I DIDN'T DESTROY IT, BUT RATHER I SENT IT TO THE NEXT BLOCK WHERE MY LITTLE KIDS ARE PLAYING. THEN I JUDGE THESE LITTLE CHILDREN FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO PREVENT THE WILD DOG FROM BITING THEM.

A time like this when people are getting depressed because of hard time, I think we can reach out to our friends whom we have not seen or spoken to for a long time.
Doing so, you will discover that in the course of conversation with that person, he or she will likely to share the problem he or she is having with you.
Based on the issue the person shared, then you can counsel the person or give a professional advice. Remember the problem shared is the problem half solved. Let's be our brother's keeper.

Some of the ways to deal with it;
- Dont indulge too much in social media, many of the things are make believe
- Love not the world, dont be engrossed in wanting to get everything your eyes see, your heart perceived!
- Dont compare yourself with others, unnecessary rat race give lots of us blood pressure.
- Be content with what you have
- Dont make fun of others who are struggling
- As parents dont put pressure on your children
- Dont live above your means
- Seek help inform of counselling and medical too because depression has to do with mental health.
- Live one day at a time.
- Above all have faith in God, trust him, cast your burden on him and honour his invitation if you are labouring and heavy laden.
God will heal us all!

Could these be solutions to all forms of depression?
I don't think so.
Elijah was depressed because of intimidation and heavily threat from Ahab family (Jezebel), according to your points what are the steps he could have taken in order to avoid this depression?

People should just understand that there are somethings u can't change, accept it and move on. Also don't try to compare ourselves with others cos life is not a race track. Often times we are our own problem. Take life as it is. Las las, we all die someday.

But the devil have not rested, he's been in camper with God, doing all he can to make God look bad.

God doesn't force anyone to love and serve him. His government is based on love and reason.

Sure enough, the devil is having a field day on earth, but his end will surely come.

One of the cause of depression is failed promises, example, disappointment in relationship, exam failure, lost of someone so dear etc.

As for Christians, we can live normal life without depression if we abide by the words of God on CONTENTMENT, " contentment is a great gain"
unfortunately our prosperity pastoprenours have twisted the scripture by selling false hope to their gullible members and when their hope is dashed, they are depressed, because instead of having abundance as promised, they became poorer.
As Christians, you overcome depression/all challenges when you serve God in truth.

Prosperity preaching leads to covetousness/greed which is what is dominant in our society today.

Why dont you ever hear these pastors arranging revivals in Scandinavia and far east asia . Dont those ones need saving too or they do not fall under the spread to all nations mantra. It is simply because part of the guile of religion is the need to appear to be a source of happiness and eternal joy . Those in Norway and Denmark are already happy, you cant sell something to someone who already has it. Plus they dont need to be afraid of poor health or disease. It is already taken care of by health insurance. Dont let anyone lie to you, depression can happen to anyone, be you pastor, bishop, pope. It is your mental capacity to handle it that matters.
