Boss, the one digital type you bought from the seller at idi-oro, is it the same as the one Ceejay uses?

Nope it's a different type. The one cesjay80s bought seems to last longer and its 12v. The one I bought can either be used for a 12v or a 24v system

Ohk!

I think Ceejay and Valto use the same type.

Since it has been proven to be efficient, maybe i will just buy it.

But which one do you use, and where are u based, if u dont mind

How do you manage to know whether a charger is pure sine wave or not, even without seeing it physically?

you won't know by eyes unless stated.
Using an oscilloscope is the surest way I know.

There is one thing I have come to notice about using a UPS in this ceejay's power project. The bug in using a UPS is that the transformer in the UPS will drain your battery faster than when you use a small inverter.

Secondly, a UPS does not adhere to the DOD rule. The DOD rule is that your battery should not be drained below 50% so as to keep it top notch and make it last for a longer period of time. The UPS alarm starts to beep when the battery is low which probably occurs when it is on a 20% or even 10% level and that is not good for your battery.

The only advantage the UPS has is that it follows the SOC rule which allows your battery to charge, float and trickle which is good for the battery but it does not adhere to DOD rule.

My advice, get a pure sine wave inverter instead of a UPS!

Would the sellers of UPS and inverters have this tool to be sincerely show that the inverter/UPS delivers a Pure sinewave current before i buy?

For his battery capacity (2 units of 100ah), what capacity of solar panels and chargw controllers should he have used?

Mine is a 100ah and i am considering something along that line. My major fear is mistakenly buying a modified sinewave UPS again, even though i now use a DC rechargeable fan. Does MSW UPs have adverse effects on TVs and sound systems?

Pls advise
he need atleast 500w panels and a 30amp mppt controller(ie 2pcs 250w panel connected in series) to charge those batteries.

How about the transformer in a Pure sine wave inverter? does it not drain as well. I am asking because I have just procured a pure sine wave inverter and noticed that the battery shuts down faster than when I used the little modified sine wave inverter I was previously using.

To tell you the truth, I am as puzzled as you are because a day after writing that comment, I used a "small transformer" 1000w inverter and then tried my hands on a bluegate 600va UPS with the normal bigger transformer. I plugged a clamp metre while using both and compared only me to notice that the battery was draining faster with the inverter than it was with the UPS!

Quite confusing!

Does anyone know why?

I have 2 units of the 1570va with dead batteries. You just have to remove the batteries, extend the terminals and connect to your set-up.

I am selling for just 5k and can waybill to Benin

some inverter actually have high self consumption. i use a 24V mustpower 3kva inverter that draws about 120w self consumption. thats the reason i decided to buy a 24V apc UPS, which am sure, doesn't draw up to 30w sefl consumption

the same thing i noticed. UPS seem to preserve more energy.. but there are inverters of 4kva that consume just 14w, though might be transformerless type
