Young man ,the point here is that uber or ehailing in general has created a lot of job opportunities.. If the government decides to ban ehailing, it will create a lot of unemployment.. You think it is easy out there now ..don't you see people hawking in the hot sun . What is the minimum wage now ? And how many companies can afford the minimum wage ? It is a jungle out here

Nobody will deny that e hailing has created lots of job opportunity. Your point duely noted sir

Riders with fake life sha!.
Got to a pick up point around ologolo inside . After driving in through the dirty flooded street and was asked to drive in to the compound. Tbought it was even airport trip. I drove in.
Next thing rider showed up .
Rider: why is your tyres dirty like this? I cant enter this car like this oo oga
Me: the road to your house was flooded with dirty water thats why.
Rider: i can still manage to sit inside d car.
Me: i no talk again since u are ok with inside cleanliness.
Next thing i saw aboki brought water.
Aboki: oga say make i give u the bucket of water to wash your tyre in the compound before him come down again.
Me:wont the tyres be dirty again after driving through the same dirty flood out of his street? start my engine, put my car on reverse
Rider: do u think u can leave me here and just drive out. Drive out let me be watching then.
Cancel the trip here in my presence before i ask aboki to open d gate 4 u else....
Me: else what? Reason why i have to be sure im out of your premises before i cancel it because i dont trust u anymore. This request on my App got me covered. Reason why im in your compound. If i have cancelled it and still remain in ur compound. The way u were sounding on the phone b4 my arrival shows what i should expect from u on my arrrival.
The next thing i screenshot the request incase...
He later opened d gate then i cancelled immediately.
Stands to be corrected. If im wrong.

I sense a flat fare with the first screenshot (N200 difference on a short trip looks more than the normal N100 shortage due to Taxify normal inaccurate fare). But the last two MUST be failed trips except Taxify is very high on something. Flat fare should not cause an N800/600 difference on such trips considering both distance & time. Like someone said, if the flat fare is truly what is happening and continues, they will definitely lose drivers.

seriously you have enough time and power, the moment she complained about your tires,. Simply ask her calmly to request another ride, that you ain't going again or u hv mechanical issues.
And at the first place how could you allow a guard lock you inside a compound you went for pick up??

Good question frank. It wasnt that it was padlocked. But most time u drive in for pick up especially airport riders, gate will be closed immediately. But the fact that u wont order aboki to open the gate for me as i was the 3rd uber that cancelled already thst time got me angry.
Meanwhile, he was even going to ikate.
He was even threatening me with dogs if i tried to come down to open the gate myself. Very funny experience gan ni bro

The best the government can do is to ensure an enabling environment whereby competitors can come in unhindered. It is then up to the market forces to determine the equilibrium point aka fair price for all parties involved.

They are not failed trips. Its should be higher cos of time spent in traffic but the flat rate does not take that in consideration. I just used my riders app to check now. The flat rate is even lower than 2k.

It's a pity some drivers still don't understand the insecurity in this state and country. I drive into hotels, estates, office complexes etc if i feel safe but residential is a no no, expecially if i can see the roof of the building that its not far from gate, its ok to politely ask why u want me to drive in and am sure sensible rider will tell u if na cos of luggage, in all you must protect yasef o na d koko be that.

From that, one would know if one can still meet up or not. Most times, when one has 1 'driver did not respond' on a weekday, one can't get the bonus. But one can still recover if it is only 1 on a weekend.
One can always calculate the percentage and know the no of trips one has to accept to meet up.

Some people are just mean and inconsiderate, picked this woman, her kid and neighbors kid from mafoluku to Yaba.
She didn't want us to pass the normal route she kept directing through the worse of roads. Sometimes we will meet traffic she will tell me to reverse and change route, dropped the kids at jibowu and her final destination Abeokuta street Yaba.
Immediately we enter the street the woman said I should end trip, I did. She now told me she's going down the street that I should let her follow me to the office which I did.
We got there she got down and said I should send my account details to her since I have her number, I let her go because cars were behind me and nowhere to park there.
Besides I didn't bother since it's an Uber trip, I sent my account details later. This woman sent a message telling me she sent message to Uber that the price is much that she will soon forward the reply to me, I regretted letting this woman go.
She just used sense for me, only for me to check that trip and saw 000 naira I quickly mailed Uber they started saying their normal when a rider question a trip they always review it.
They said I took the wrong route or that the woman said it was a GPS issue, I sent my own mail regarding the said trip they said they have added miscellaneous whatever to my next week payout.
Up till now I can't see the reflection of any refund and the trip didn't even count as regards the 15 trip stuff, I called this woman several times she didn't pick.
I later called her with several different number she picked and when she learnt it's me said sorry that she told Uber she's paying #1200.

This is a journey that took over an hour, I told her plainly that she simply doesn't want to pay. That if she multiply #10/m she have roughly #700, does it mean she want to pay #500 from Ikeja to Yaba with stop at jibowu. Even if Uber want to do something they will only give her bonus as balance and won't tell her not to pay the fare displayed on the app, I was already at her mercy and simply told her to pay whatever she want to pay. She transferred #1700, that's why some drivers rather do saka.
I even blame Uber for reviewing a trip they knew nothing about without asking the driver first and believing a one side story.
I told them my mind sha, that drivers are not slaves. They should learn to hear from drivers first before reviewing any trip.

I think you need to inform uber about the N1,700 tip. Since i am sure after uber reviews your trip, your account would be credited.
