alexdedon: That's too much, I bought 2000 euros last 2 weeks at 405....even at yesterday, it was trading for about 403, 402.. |
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by freakky(m): 11:37am On May 29, 2019 |
alexdedon:You can do that by doing what @Eldee mentioned earlier which is( Euro as at today is 403 naira per euro, enter street look for one aboki man, negotiate well since you are buying in bulk, ie let's say 400 naira. Carry the aboki man go your bank to avoid stories that touch, give am the naira and collect the euros, then pay it in a domiciliary account. It will get to your German account the following day or at most two days depending on the bank) |

alexdedon: Have you tried the optiion of form A? using CBN official rate Go to your bank and tell them you want transfer money for your school. They will ask you of some basic documents such as Admission Letter, the stated fee(you can use the Visa check list where it 8,640 is stated and ur AL where u have ur semester contribution stated), Beneficially bank details, passport data page. Please go with all neccesary documents u used in opening the BA The money will be lodge in your account while they bid for Euro from CBN. After getting the euro, they will send it to the account. I have not done it but i asked from standard Chartered bank and they told me its possible. You can also get Euro for 400 as said, but do a trial for the Form A and compare For you to buy Euro from aboki, you must have a domicilary (euro) account with bank. Most banks dont open Euro account as they convert from dollar to euro during the transfer. In that case, do well to transfer above the amount you want to send cos the rate fluctautes. There are few that open Euro account find out cos it will be straight forward Best Wishes 2 Likes |

Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Ghostk: 12:00pm On May 29, 2019 |
Tommynaku: Hello sir, CBN’s Rate does not apply to Form A. If he’s using that option, then he’s going to have to pay the bank’s rate, which is currently higher than parallel market rate. Best advise is to source for own euros and make a transfer to his block account. 1 Like |

freakky:. Foreign currency is not scarce now. Its towards August/sept that you have scarcity. But like I said, He should ask questions and compare. Ask question from the bank as the Rate, duration, all charges using Form A and funding your account and transfer. With this he could know the best option having in mind other factors(interview or resumption dates) |

freakky: OK sir. So since aboki is the best. Put me through certain things. We have different banks in Nigeria so which is most flexible for this transaction? How much exactly would the bank collect for the transaction? This is important so one knows how much to carry. |
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Premiercare: 12:35pm On May 29, 2019 |
Good day. For raising Euro, pls note 1. You can ask the local forex guys (aboki) to exchange and transfer euro to your domiciliary euro acct. Note that there is difficulty with cash transaction. There is a cap to how much euro cash you can pay into your acct per day. This online transaction will come at a higher cost usually about 5 naira above buying euro as cash 2. You can also do form A from your bank. The rate varies depending on Bank. Shop around. StanbicIBTC allows you to do this even with a saving account. 2 Likes |

alexdedon: Ask your bank to take their transaction cost from your naira account. GTB/Stanbic allows you to give this instruction. That way your Euro transferred is intact. 1 Like |

Coitus: FORM A Go to your bank and request to do transfer for your upkeep using Form A. Find out the following 1. requirements which i believe you have, 2. the rate they use and charges for the transfer 3. The entire duration(getting the fund from CBN and transfering. TRANSFER You must open or have a domicilary account with the bank either euro or dollar. If dollar, there is a converstion and in this case make sure you ask or you transfer above the amount u wanted to. If Euro its staight transfer. Go to aboki and negotiate either dollar or euro that you want to use. euro sholud be 400 in PH since its much. Pls and Pls don not carry cash to them. MAKE ALL your transction in the bank (Account to Account) He transfer the cash to you and you transfer the equivalent to him. Make sure you ask the bank charges for your transfer Compare this two methods and see the best for you 2 Likes 4 Shares |

ejighikepat: I stand to be corrected but you MUST ask your bank.Tthe charges should be 0.5% of the amount, Telex charge and overseas charge. Pls Sir ASK OOOH 3 Likes 1 Share |
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Ghostk: 12:53pm On May 29, 2019 |
ejighikepat: Yes you can. There’s a bank cross rate would would be used to effect the transfer. However I’ld advise you to open a euro account and fund it to make your transfer. It’ll be more direct and cheaper since there won’t be a cross-rate conversion |
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Ghostk: 12:55pm On May 29, 2019 |
The charges are almost uniform across all banks for the transfer method. I’m not too sure of the form a method tho. Just walk into your bank of choice to make your enquiries. Coitus: |
