How do you make a post unquotable if I may ask? Thanks.
By 'quoting' yourself.
i.e. put [quoté] at the start of the sentence and put [/quoté] at the end of whatever you've written

PS. Use regular 'e' in the quote

I can only answer the first part cos I used Qlife for medicals. Treasury bills and fixed deposits certificates can suffice for POF. People have gotten PPR with it alone but for sanity and peace of mind, u can add Bank’s reference letter to it
beckycute1:
Hi all, for POF, can treasury bills certificate and investment cert suffice without letter from the bank?

Also does IOM carry out med examinations on sundays?
My appointment was confirmed for Sunday but I'm thinking it was an oversight from them.

GHOST UPDATE 17/5/19
PPR MAIL 17/5/19
Approximately 8 months post AOR

Our (my wife and I)decision to relocate to Canada was based on many factors. We were also motivated by our siblings in the diaspora who are soaring high in their various fields.

IELTS
This was done with BCIE which wasn’t a smooth sail for me. I didn’t study much cos I felt it would be a walk in the park since it’s ‘english’ but I didn’t know ielts had plans to humble me. Score was SLWR 7,6.5.6.5,7. My wife passed hers! I wasn’t deterred. I immediately registered with MOD and took the test 1 month later and after much intensified jacking, I passed with the minimum required score 8777.

MEDICALS
This was done at IOM Maitama Abuja, sometime in August 2018. I had to do a sputum test/culture after they found a scar on my chest X-ray (Trying and tempting times). My medicals was finally passed in November 2018, 3 months after AOR.

PCC
We got our police certificates from the Force HQ in Abuja. I paid 20k for my wife and I. I also obtained PCC from the UK

ECA
We used WES for both undergraduate and masters degree

WORK REFERENCES
We got the CIC format for references and asked senior colleagues from our organizations to write this for us. Attached payslips, offer letters etc.

POF
My wife and I combined funds to invest in tbillz for a 6 month period. Submitted the certificate with 6 months bank statement.

Then the wait...
Boy! I lost count of how many times I logged into my CIC account.
Ordered 1st GCMS on 23rd feb
Ordered 2nd GCMS on 27th March
Both notes were basically the same thing. No difference and it was very evident that our file had not been touched.
We also called CIC (3 times) and each time we spoke to them it was the same cliche of our file
Being in que and waiting to be reviewed by an officer.

This past week on Friday I got a ghost update saying application/profile updated. Woke up the next morning on Saturday and saw the PPR Mail sitting pretty in my mail box.

In closing, At every stage you find yourself in be it ITA, AOR, ECA, re writing IELTS, awaiting PPR etc just keep pushing and understand you are a step closer to your goal. Delay is not denial, it will end in praise.

Thank you @ifeo.ma77 for your assistance.
Congrats again, I am so freaking happy for you

hmmm I need to look into this consulting thing. @Tops.mamen @Ifeo.ma77 I'm ready when you are, I have a feeling we'd make a great team. LadyM.arshall can run logistics.

Bu.my, knowing your profile could help give you a better answer. Your age, degree, years of work experience etc.
An overall band of 7 isn't enough these days to secure ITA. You'd need to score 8777 (LRWS). Kindly provide us with more details to better assist you.
PS: The tool your "consultant" used to calculate your CRS is this one. Use it and play around with it to see the best option for you and your family. Good luck!

Hehehehehehehehehe
Ayam ready! And remember, we charge in CAD. They have to get used to spending Canadian dollars and it's our solemn responsibility to help in this regard

Silent Reader now in d building!!!!!
Somewhat Long Post Alert!!!!
Its PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Background
Before I embark on the journey of my story, let me first give thanks to whom all praise, honour, glory and adoration is due; the most high God, my refuge, me Shield, my Buckler, lover of my soul, my Maker, my present help in time of trouble, my Deliverer, Jehovah, Yahweh, the I AM that I AM, glorious God, awesome wonder.
I have always been a diehard fan of Nigeria, things are getting better and there is no need to move to another country I always said. In fact, I believed naija was the best place to make it, looking at my father’s success story. “I’d rather make my millions here and go on vacation than relocate permanently”, I used to tell myself and all who cared to hear. My husband on the other hand has been talking about this move since we got married. I just always shrug it off. I can’t remember how many times we said we would register for the exam; once he starts like that, I will nod in agreement with him so that the story and preaching will not start, then I won’t say anything about it again and we will move on.
It wasn’t until one blessed day in August 2018, had a get together with former colleagues and then I realised that almost everyone was in the process; that’s excluding other people I know who had either gotten PPR or were in the process. Then I asked myself “Babe, if all the sane people you know in this country move to Canada, you would be left with touts and the likes to run the country and it will not be fun at all”. The was the turning point for me. When I got home I told him this country is in big trouble as most of the bright minds (I know) are moving and me, I cannot be caught dead here when there is no one left. The following day being a Saturday, I registered for IELTS. Being that I wasn’t too confident about my level of preparedness, I gave myself 2 months to prepare (wrong decision, cos by the end of September, I was already tired of preparing). So, I registered for the Oct 27th, 2018 exam, with BC (did not know about IDP then). About a week or 2 after, I registered with WES, thankfully, I have a foreign degree, so this was a breeze.
In preparing for IELTS, one of my friends sent me some links so study materials and one of those links was the link to study materials on page 1 on part 5 or 6 can’t remember again. Nosey me started snooping around the thread and gradually started following to the point of addiction (read when I get to the office before I start my day’s work and then before I go to bed at night). At a point hubby banned me from reading this thread, but for where, I was still following, just don’t check when he’s around.

Hmm! Your question struck a very very deep nerve in me. Our sweet mothers!!! I was in the same shoes when I relocated to Western Europe. My mum had the same worries because she cares. I was young (still), single without a committed relationship grin, knew absolutely no one and was according to her, "too ambitious" (we all know the myth that "too ambitious" ladies rarely find husbands, lol). My aunties ridiculed her for that and she almost stopped me. But what's done was done.

Phaytie:
Good morning nairalanders.

And the mum also thinks that life abroad is not as easy as Nigerians think it is, coupled with the financial requirements for the express entry been expensive.

Pls, for those who have idea of these things, or are in Canada, how easy is it to find a bearing, and start life, career and otherwise, especially for a single lady who knows no one in Canny, except a cousin to her friend, who she has never met.
What are your opinions?
The lady has already began the process, ECA in progress, and IELTS soon.

This will not affect you at all. Work experience has its own category while qualifications and language proficiency relates together. Your 3 years experience will earn you good points in your CRS
MJ888:
Greetings guys. Kindly help examine this situation and respond.

I have a bachelor's degree in English language but since graduation I've worked for about 3years as a cinematographer for a media company. If I evaluate my English language Degree but my current job is different from what I studied, will this affect me when CIC is assessing my application?

Looking forward to your response and thanks.

I have a couple of question for seniors in the house. I got an update, and in my application status, Background Check changed from ‘We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information’, to ‘Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check’. This looks like my application process is going backward instead of progressing.

1. Should I be worried? AOR was in March; I passed medical exam on 3rd March and completed biometrics on 6th March 2019.

2. What stage of application am I—Ip1 or Ip2?

Current application status is as seen below.

Or maybe you guys didn't uncheck the left box (which indicates the receiving address of your ECA result copy is a Canadian one). The courier charge for this left part is way cheaper than the one on the right side (for an international destination which is suitable to us residing outside Canada). The total ECA fee should be at least 80k or thereabout. I still stand to be corrected by the gurus in the house though.
The copy is coming through post not courier
