My first time in the US was for conference.
A conference I sponsored myself.
I came back. I've visited severally after that.
So not everyone going to the US is going to 'japa'.
Spanishmilf:
I can't be the only one who don't believe people that want to go for conference in USA or a birthday party..... They just want to japa

It's a "war" against birth tourism right now, I think you played right into it. I may even advise visitors/tourists to the US to stay on that and stay off / forget birthing all together if at all possible! Maybe too the assessment of your household combine financial capacity wasn't just gonna cut it, coupled with that 6 weeks holiday (could be seen as you are gradually becoming daring you know).

How about something like "Oh well, I would love to, depending a whole lot on our financial disposition, and even if we are/were capable to a lot of weighing got to be done in its entirety, and above all if the visa terms generally and from this interview allows that without troubles, but right now I go on an holiday to the US just like I have previously been doing, and for two weeks precisely this time around".

Seems doctored though, but if you reel this out with confidence, charisma and the "I'm in charge" attitude, who knows?

Well i was only being honest. That s nothing but the truth. Anything u say will surely hook u later. I am not pregnant now and hope to give birth in the USA when i get pregnant. If i had said no, getting a birth visa would be difficult. I saw people drilled and interrogated on past applications of years ago. So my honest opinion! Be truthful! people tend to forget their lies. Imagine a lady saying she forgot she said she was going to transit the usa and not to give birth. How

If you say NO to that question in this time and age, don't ever think of birthing with that visa. Even if you ignore the embassy in the future and board a plane going to the US, I won't be surprised at all if the CBP crew "bundles" you aboard the next flight back to Naija without allowing you in to the US, and even put a big "CANCELLED WITH PREJUDICE" stamp on your passport.

The only alternative option will be not to dare such travel, but to gather a solid burden of proof and then go back into the embassy for an interview for a birthing-specific visa. The way they are now, this would even get worsened, they may hold that NO against you sef in such subsequent interview. They ain't joking!

I Think the problem they had with her was that she stayed 6 weeks, and I think they now look at the salary of applicants.

Guys i just got this email

Your document(s) have been collected from the US Embassy/Consulate

The passport number being returned is XXXXXXXXXX

You have chosen to have your documents delivered to the following location:

Benin, DHL, Benin, Benin

Should I proceed to the collection center or I should give them more time?

I was denied visa today. Its like today was a day for refusals as only an old lady i saw that got the visa all others got denied. I have been to the us 3times and never faulted. Well USA would be on hold for now till further notice. The wahala is too much. We go through alot just to get visas. Well i blame the government though. Was so suprised that nigs can coordinate and behave themselves. Meanwhile i saw a lady that came out of her car, used an egg to surround her head n her children and threw it down before walking to the embassy . Hmmmm is this what Nigeria has deteriorated to? How did we get here? How

Was that Lagos or Abuja office?

Honesty is the best policy. That's what's important. I don't find any faults with your transcript. God is the Ultimate and that door to Yankee will open for you one day madam.

I never said you should lie but the visa you're applying for is not for is not for birthing and in her case she said she's not sure and you can actually use your visa for visit and decide to use it for birthing afterwards so far your zero balance is in order and you did not accept discount.

Yes. You visited several times, married woman alone, they were thinking what for? Tourism it's enough 1 visit, not many. They probably even followed you during your last visit, checking what you were doing there and it is all in your file on the computer.

Sorry for the disappointment. Personally I do not think there were any red flags apart from the six weeks stay. Your answers were not perfect but such a tense environment doesn't help issues. You can hold your head high that you were truthful. If I were in your shoes, would probably reapply.

Dear lady, even here in nairaland you are writing in February you were planted an embryo and you are following the fertility treatment.
Are you sure, American embassy doesn't read nairaland when you were saying you are not pregnant? I think if it's not nairaland, VO did see you hiding your pregnancy or did see you are not telling the truth or in your last visit you were observed what were you doing in the states.
So better blame yourself, not me.
