usa placed embargo on pharmaceutical going to iran and they are already scared that it might lead to drug shortages. why do you think that is? when they could have just gone to other countries and buy american drugs there?

why do you think americans are scared china might retaliate american ban on huawei by placing embargo on their rear earth metal going to usa?
they could have just gone to other markets and buy chinese rear earth metal there dont you think?

use placed trade embargo on cuba/fidel castrol and it literally crushed cuba for years. not only cant cuba trade with with usa, it cannot buy any of its product.



if china place embargo on trade with nigeria, not only will it lead to recession, it will lead to depression, crisis and wars. importing more than 70% of our stuffs from china means 70% of the things we require to run the economy smoothly come from china. and there is a huge trade deficit that should have put this in check but no nigerian leader is addressing it. now all our loans are coming from china. we are practically slaves to china now that they can do anything they want with us.

embargo on steel will first practically halt any infrascrtural project going on the country. not only that, the small industries you have will kaput. all these small assembly plant we are managing will kaput momentarily. china is the biggest exporter of steel all over the world at the moment.

pharmaceutical products will be so expensive people will revert back to drinking cow piss to treat malaria.

Most especially export oriented countries like china....
That's suicidal n it's a precipitate for economic recession, deindustrialisation n rising unemployment
The country risk losing market share, because whatever that's banned can be sourced elsewhere....
Trade embargo target commodity products, capital goods or manufacturing components....
The above are needed to produce the final product...
Trade embargo on these products hurts the importing/dependent country....
That's why China is banning export of rare earth metals to usa but spared Apple products..
Why...because Apple products are finished goods produced in china....
If China bans Apple devices, they risk losing the huge manufacturing market to other countries if apple decides to move production elsewhere....
Chinese govt can only appeal to nationalistic fervour....
