I would be the most ungrateful being if I didn't share my story here. This is not PPR (at least not yet), but I just conquered IELTS on the 10th attempt, still awaiting result of the 11th and a remark of my 9th. First of all, my ultimate gratitude goes to God Almighty for giving me the resilience to fight though these trying times.

My first IELTS test was April 21 2018, and I wrote back to back on a monthly basis until 23rd May 2019 (the game changer). Months I didn't write, I was hoping for a positive EOR, none ever came back changed. Allow me to state that, the 6.5 in writing was my major hurdle. I have sought help tirelessly on this thread but it was the same story. I eventually stopped practicing for other components again because I knew all the questions and answers in my head already, I mean, after studying almost every day of your life for over 12 months, there was nothing new to learn.

To be brief, my last resort was to contact @JohnnyBravo just 3 days to the test of 23rd May. I ensured I unlearned everything I had learnt about writing and strictly followed his teachings. I'm sincerely grateful to you for your attention and professionalism, God bless you endlessly. For all who are still stuck with writing, please let him guide you. Thank you again bro.

In conclusion, (sorry o but after taking the writing test for over 12 months, my writing has been structured into 4 BPs) while it is not easy, I'd like to encourage anyone struggling with any aspect of this journey not to give up. There's joy in knowing you eventually conquered. I'm positioned for an ITA in the coming draws and may The Good Lord make the rest of the journey smooth for us. Amen.

You write too well to have been stuck at 6.5 for over a year. I also noticed your structure is exactly the same as that of JohnnyBravo1990, you definitely learnt a lot from him within 3/7 days.

This is wonderful. I’m so excited. Yea, we did it! This is also my victory. Getting a 7.0 with a 3-day coaching, let’s now wait for the last exam for which I coached you for a week. You may even get a 7.5. Congrats once again. I’m here to liberate people from the shackles of IELTS writing, wink and it feels good achieving that.

I’m glad for the bolded statement in your comment. Anyone coming to me, please format your brain as regards IELTS writing. I once had a student who was constantly arguing with me in our reviews, and he was constantly making the errors I told him not to make. Anyway, he left, but I pray he gets his desired Writing score wherever he sought help from.

So, Daybour1, have a lovely day. Celebrate! This is a huge feat. With the CRS score you told me you now stand at, I know you will get an ITA in the next draw or in 2 further draws. You are already in Canada as far as I am concerned. Now unto my next candidate for a breakthrough testimony here.
Yes, it's your victory. Congrats.

It's baffling though how 8/7/7/7 seems better than 9/9/9/6.5

One is a well rounded score, the other is handicap. Think of 8777 as a soldier who is fit as fiddle with more than average skills to match, and 999/6.5 as a soldier who is better than everyone else in almost all aspects but he's one legged.

I started processing my degree certificate verification last month (May 12 or so). ECFMG sent an E-verification mail to my university on 31st May. I’m yet to get in contact with someone in my school because of the public holidays. Averagely, if my school responds on time, it should take about 3-4weeks to get the ECA report.

Thank you for your prompt response. Please which school did you attend. My brothers' is UNIZIK

Good morning all, I just opened my page now and saw that my surname was written separately instead of using a hyphen to make it a compound name after biometrics. My names now appear as 4 instead of 3. Do I raise a CSE or just leave it like that. And if I should raise a CSE, how do I go abt it?

Good morning everyone, i just got my ielts result (first attempt) may 23
LRWS 87.577.5

This feels like getting ready for PPR. ......I am a silent reader here.....the journey wassnt smooth but God came through. .....I had had stories of people not passing in thier first attempt and knowing how I had phobia for falling exams, I became very scared ......I booked my exams April thanks to my brother because I didn't even have 1 naira. ....he gave me the condition that if I pass he wouldn't collect his money back (jokinly).......imagine being a lecturer where you set very hard questions for students and here I am in the position of my students....

.in between all this I got admission for phd in April with compulsory lecture attendance everyday.....it wasn't easy at all.....I was worried because my husband works in another state.....I go to school as early as 6am , drop my son then come back around 2pm, head to work till 6pm when I pick my son up....I can't read till he sleeps around 10pm....just 1hr or 2....I was just practicing reading and listening, all Cambridge 14 to 9 and www.ieltsonline.com....I watched all liz and jays video on writing but I still didn't start practisin writing until 2weeks to exams...I sent in an essay to one of my friend who had PHD in english and she was dissapointed, she asked when I was writing and she said only God can help you get 6.0 in writing..

That was when I got @Johnnybravvo1990 contact here....initially I was skeptical but the thought of failing pushed me......he was very nice Nd too good....he asked me to practise with pencil and the exams answers sheet because it would help me know how to be in check with words counts....he really tried oh because days when I don't send in essays, he would ask why....he took his time to tutor me and thought be the basics....God bless you sir .....he was

This is where the big blow came, my son fell ill on sunday....I couldnt read nor sleep because my exams was on Thursday while speaking test was on Wednesday. ..I travelled to ibadan on Monday with my son....he was still feeling feverish after taking him to the hospital with sleepless nights and medications, Thank God for my in laws. ......then on Wednesday, my son had fiberal convotion(doctors will understand ) we had to rush to the hospital but he was observed for 2hrs and I went for my speaking test..... i was just praying to God to grant my son good health because I couldn't concentrate well for my speaking test.....test day came, he was recuperating. ......I didn't even read because of him.....I just prayed to God to make this effort worth it and He did......I feel like a burden is lifted.....

I cried when I saw my results because God did great through the odds....I was elated even my husband is now encouraged to write the exams

I pray for breakthrough for everyone at one stage or the other on thier journey.......

Please I need your help....my NOC IS 4011 because I am a university lecturer but my husnand js a polythecnic lecturer, Can he also claim the same NOC. .....wes hasn't sent our evaluation yet, so I would wait because scores with siblings point and without hubby's ielts is 470.....

Here's my IELTS story.

I wrote my 1st IELTS on Jan 19, LRWS - 8,7.5,6.5,7.
Then @wasseynewest gave me Liz's paid videos and tutored me. After listening to them, I wrote again, 2nd attempt- Feb 14 and made LRWS- 7.5, 8, 7, 7.5 (unfortunately, I had too many map questions that resulted in my Listening score dropping).

I immediately registered for another exam. 3rd attempt -Mar 23, made 8.5, 7, 6.5, 7.5. I was devastated and wondered what I did wrong.

Then I started asking for help on Nairaland and found @ladymarshall. She agreed to review my essays despite her busy schedule. She reviewed my essays and made so many corrections after which she confirmed that I was good to go.

But determined to leave no stone unturned, I found a link here to join @fidelism writing class. I immediately joined using the link. I followed diligently despite my tight schedule. He reviewed my essays in bits, line by line, paragraph by paragraph according to essay types. Breaking it down from introduction to conclusion. He even called me occasionally, to explain the parts I was not getting right. Making sure I got it.

During my exam, I made sure I got my paragraph structure right like my Tutors taught me, then I paid attention to my grammar and linking words. The writing material he shared on the group was also a huge help.

For the other modules, I practiced a lot even though I had practiced all the Cambridge materials during previous tests, I used ieltsonline tests.

I even prayed the St Joseph of Cupertino novena.
Above all God showed up for me, my IELTS journey which I started since Jan 2019 ends here. I maxed out, fam!

LRWS - 9,9, 7.5,7.5.

@wasseynewest ,@ladymarshall, @Fidelism.

Mucho Gracias(hope I got that right)

Good job bro..but you for return all glory and credit to God.

Ok bro. I’m not a religious person though. Well, all the glory to God if that makes you happy. But the philosopher in me says, ‘if we must give God all the glory/thanksgiving for every success we have, we must also give Him all the blame for all the failures where we worked so hard but still failed’. So, my conclusion is this: there are some principles governed by natural phenomena such as hard work and success with a touch of luck. We mustn’t always put the ‘God concept’ in everything. There will always be successes and failures in life, but these are not attributed to one supernatural being above. I strongly feel God plays a very neutral role to many events in our lives. Any success we have can only be tied to our hardworking efforts and luck; God does not play any deliberate or active role in these successes. If God is always involved in our affairs, there would no suffering in the world, and earth would be paradise. I am only appreciative of the fact that God created a wonderfully organised universe which is in perfect order: there are days and nights, winters and summers, living organisms having perfectly designed physiological organs and systems which is exemplified in wound healing following an injury as well as gestation which culminates in parturition. But as regards the experiences or stories in our lives, I don’t include the ‘God factor’ as explanation of these events; the only causal factors I could attribute to our life stories are hard work and luck. Also, I don’t believe in spirituality.

I hope my personal beliefs don’t discourage people from seeking assistance from me in IELTS; you may not not like my approach to life, but I will advise you to get what you want from me and move on. wink
