Be guided, Ndi Igbo don't have any issue with Yorubas and we will never have any.

Forget about the madness going on here, it is all hoax. Outside Nairaland we have healthy relationship and have learnt to tolerate each other excesses.

Both my Senior Analyst and the Support Analyst are Yorubas and I can't trade those dudes for anything. I have represented more Yorubas than Igbos and my biggest breakthrough came from Lagos, though they have scammed me more than any region.

Forget about the madness going on here, we just use it to relief stress.

So you hate Yorubas?

I think you’ll find Ndigbo don’t hate anyone!

What’s happening is akin to a woman trapped in an unloving and abusive marriage, and when she wants to leave is prevented from doing so by a group benefitting from the union and who think she has no reason to want out and whatever ill-treatment she’s going through was brought about by her and her deceased parents, hence she must suffer the maltreatment and indignities in silence! You reckon she would be brimming with love for these people and be willing to keep quiet so as to not ‘rock-the-boat’ and disrupt her traducers from disproportionately reaping the benefits of the union!?

Forget about all that, I love Igbos, they're my brother's. I want the best for you.

Do you love me back? It's a simple question.

The truth as much as it must be said is that the hate is mutual as is the love.
But the hate doesn't take us anywhere, we need unity even in our diversity. When we understand and tolerate our differences, we can achieve great as a people.
I've many Yoruba as friends, many who have impacted my life in many positive ways, I've some too who would rather I don't survive (not because I'm Igbo anyway). In same vein, I've helped and assisted many and they will forever remain grateful.

Let's love and not hate.

Correct we need to unite and find a common ground outside of politics.

I don't know how to sugar coat words but people like Awolowo needs to be condenmed more to eternal and forever damnation and I know of course peace has eluded his nothingness.

There is no love even with Victor Banjo .

Nobody can entertain a relationship filled with betrayal and back stabbing and of course awolowo died regretting his actions. Today his children or protege are taking cue from his legacy of sniper and are sending themselves to hell.

Unity on what ground. If anybody tell u that there is unity then that person is a liar and anyone saying there is love, desist from the fellow because he is a demon.

Op what is Ideal is never practicable.

Igbos are not the problem but your folks, too tribalistic in nature. I speak from experience coz my brother works in an establishment in Lagos where Yorubas are majority.
Come down to the east and see how Yorubas are treated even if they are only one among the Igbos.

Watching out for any impostor on a mission to cause confusion.
To the topic at hand, I'll say Igbos hate no one who's fair in his dealings. The Igbo/Yoruba relationship is a very funny and yet bitter one. Funny in the sense that despite all the insults and braggadoccio, no any real violent conflict have occurred among them. Bitter on the other hand in that the danger of a violent conflict is very much possible given the stupid politics the Yorubas are playing against Ndigbo. After studying European history extensively and juxtaposing it with what we are doing in Nigeria today, I've seen that we can't escape that violence that we can easily avoid. We simply refuse to learn from the mistake of others. America dropped two atomic bombs in Japan yet they still helped to rebuild her. Today they are strong allies. Germany was almost reduced to nothing yet those they led their subjugation helped to rebuild her but here in Nigeria I'm told my forefathers did a coup therefore I shouldn't aspire to certain positions in a country I'm suppose to be it's citizen. Tufiakwa!

And if I may ask, how are the yorubas resisting your exit from the abusive and unloving marriage that your elite, due to their greedy propensity, willing went into?

Are the yorubas, "owners of Nigeria" holding you and your folks, captive in the country?

Am certain that even when you finally get your Biafra, your people will still troop down to yorubaland in search of a better life even though you have nothing but utter disdain for the people.

In the last biafra oil war, many of your people stayed behind in Lagos and Ibadan.

The two tribes are the most collaborative of any other tribes except in two places - Politics and Nairaland.
It is a sweet and bitter relationship so far!

Nairaland inadvertently, have provided a platform to take this "hate" disease to a toxic level where most people now see almost every thread from tribal lens.

Seun et'al I think you have serious issue to deal with. Use the same Nairaland platform to help promote unity amongst the three major ethnic group. I don't agree when people say that what is spoken here should not to be taken serious. No! This is digital age and people surely are speaking there mind and in many cases meant whatever they say. It should not be trivialised. Some comments here are real.

On political ground, it is still a long journey... and because the Igbos and Yorubas are always not singing the same tune, then the Hausa/Fulanis sort of dictates the political tune.
