Statistics. Dropbox stopped for Nigeria by automatic US government order once statistics show how many Nigerian lied, overstayed and misused American visas, it includes, tourists not coming back, anchor babies mamas, students staying illegal, etc. Too many Nigerians violated US visas terms, now all country is paying for it with so many denials. The embassy just follows government orders to reduce the quantity of approved visas. Also obligatory interview gives the opportunity to Consular Officers to see the face and lies and to get more information on each applicant into computer system. More background check.

EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALL DOCUMENTS AND THE STRONGEST TIES IN Nigeria, IF you DONT GO WITH THE GRACE OF GOD, FORGET IT. I SAW A HIGH RANKING CIVIL DEFENSE OFFICER BEING DENIED.
A BIG MAN AND ALL HIS FAMILY MEMBERS PROLLY GOING FOR THEIR HOLIDAYS ALL BEEN DENIED.
Eveb ONE KABIYESI man WAS DENIED TOO. SO NA BABA GOD GET POWER las las.. pray, fast and seek his face.

Just like other ppl have said before
1. Be confident in your answers
2. Don’t be desperate(very important.)
3. Those guys are highly trained and can sense desperation miles away. Go with the mentality that it’s either you get or not. After all Its not an interview for a million dollars check.

It was pink slip day @ embassy in Lagos. I and my mom were denied. Perhaps 1 white in 20 pink slips today.

More typing (facials were not good from him. You tried bro, take heart, I think 3 things are wrong, firstly you said you spent 3 month, secondly another 1 month, thirdly your brother got married to a US citizen, which means your brother enter with B1/B2. If am not wrong. To the VO it was clear that you might want to stay back and do like your brother did.

Thanks. He's the one that asked me why I stayed for 3 months and I responded. My reasons were genuine. Secondly, my brother got married to his wife here in Nigeria as she came down to marry him, and not the other way around and both went to the embassy for his visa.

Hahaha, Abj or Lag? Pink slips full ground today especially to the renewals like muah. A few first timers got white.

Guys.. i just collected my B1/B2 Visa. On my DS-160 form, i filled September 1st,2019 as my expected date of arrival but plans have changed and I wanna make the trip sometime in February next year 2020.. hope this won’t be a problem at the POE?

At fault in what way? Answer no? Of course i would like to give birth in the us when i get pregnant and dont want drama neither do i intend to use a visit visa to birth. I. Have been following the forum and we are always advised to speak the truth. I read here when one lady was asked same question and she answered same. She was granted the visa and adviced to pay all her bills if she gets pregnant within the 2yrs visa. Would i have lied Pls educate me. Thanks

If as at today I'm not pregnant, and I attend a visa interview today and a B1/B2 Visa is issued me for the purpose of visiting family and I use it for that purpose and come back to Naija and maybe even use same visa by next year Easter (or not), then I get pregnant in a year from now sir, are you saying I cannot use that visa for birthing in the US say in 2021 all things being equal?

Such usage I believe is in order and principally fall within the purview of the CBP to handle and have it noted in the system for tomorrow's use and consultation by whomever has reason to. There's yet no where it is stated as a policy that a B1/B2 Visa throughout its validity period can only cover for the exact purpose it was issued, I haven't seen.

As long as I first use it for the purpose it was issued, I can go back and use it for other purposes it covers, e.g to attend a conference, a business meeting, to birth, etc without worries. Unless I was asked during the interview if I will birth with the visa and I said NO or maybe I was expressly told/warned not to use it for birthing, that is only when I won't dare, because clearly the implications are grave!

But people are still being issued visa for birthing till now, and some are among those that birthed in the US previously that either went the Dropbox route but where called in for an interview or of their own accord ignored Dropbox route and turned themselves in/up for interview. How are they getting the visa now? They did things right on their previous US birthing mostly!

My friend just got her visa ,we both got our visas for birthing 2016,I did Dropbox with my bill that wasn’t even up to 4k,she didn’t do drop box and applied May..she got the visa ..you dey among the few wey get brain for here but all na guess work last last..I remember how them give person hbp for low bill but last last I do drop box and I got the visa..

There are exceptions to every rule. Yours was different but how many people can we count to be this lucky and you know we can’t use exception as a standard. My point is , I was in that embassy in April and I saw how peeps who went for birthing were denied cos of the payment. I saw one family who was asked to go get their complete documents and they will make a decision when the VO queried the amount. They said they paid much more and her hubby was ransacking their transparent folder looking for a receipt or document. So this payment thing get as e dey do them for body. Are they just angry that US gives this opportunity of automatic citizenship and they want to take it away with the other hand by now looking for bills above 10k dols or what?

I don't get why she's angry and mad at the forum. This forum has done far more good to a lot of people, you can't trash 5-6 yrs of knowledge because someone offended someone on this forum, we're all adult and normally I will keep quiet but thrashing our hard work is something I will not take, most time the advice on this forum is based on current trend and right now, birthing in U.S is dangerous and if you plan to do discounted birthing, you may end up not getting your visa renewed.
This forum is not the official U.S Embassy Nairaland forum this is clear before getting on the forum so why not go to the U.S Embassy forum instead of this forum. None of us worked with U.S Embassy but with the little we know, I believe we've changed a lot of life for better.
