Undergraduate girls in the country’s various tertiary institutions are known to embark on various endeavours for survival and one of these is the trade of flesh. Those who do this are known as ‘Runs Girls’. In this piece, OBINNA OGBONNAYA (ABAKALIKI) and AGATHA CHITUMU (ABUJA) explore the lives of ‘runs girls’ in desperate battle to obtain certificates in a bid to secure for themselves places in the labour market later in the future It breaks essential moral code to note that some of the young girls sent to universities to acquire knowledge and become productive citizens in the state, have found a vocation in prostitution.Source: https://leadership.ng/2019/06/08/mixing-runs-with-academics/

The sanitised term for ashawo work in our modern society is euphemistically referred to as "Hard working girls " and that of students prostituting their selves in campus is cooly called "transaction dating " or" mutually beneficial " a girl once said to my friend that she has more than ten sugar daddies and they always come back to her because she knows how to dangle her bones. This is an epidemic, but unfortunately no-one knows where to start tackling Nigerian problems. The whole nation is in a state of total disarray. |

These girls are divided into 2 groups---- 1) The ones doing it to survive and fund their education 2) The ones doing it to keep up socially..... While it isn't justifiable, the first group is understandable.... |

Criminality and social vices are PDP’s legacy. These things are expected when very corrupt people have ruled a nation in the recent past. The lack of morals permeates every strata of the society. |

This vice is self made . When you want to impress your female folks in the campus. They are still undergraduates, but they want to make use of phone of N369,000. They are still in the school, they want to braid a hair of N19k per week. They are still in the school , they want to make use of body lotion of N20k. Most of them don't cut their clothes according to their sizes |
