Traditional rulers controlling billions yet their subjects are experiencing abject and crushing poverty...seems like even the Emir of Kano is enjoying the Almanjiris situation.

Is this a response to the query?

If so then the emir is as guilty as shina Rambo.

Well I learned Buhari has endorsed the financial misappropriation.

So let's all move on.

Same emir that spoke against the poor literacy levels in the north?
That was the beginning of his problems.

This was how GEJ tried to rubbish Sanusi, and the man provided a masterclass in response. After reading his detailed rebuttal to the cooked up allegations, I lost all hope in GEJ.

Emir Sanusi is clearly a principled man of integrity. Truly wish he'd run for President of Nigeria someday.

In this topic, Sanusi has attached a detailed response to the allegations.

I'm not sure if it's almajiri school you attended since you seem to think that all allegations are automatically facts.

He has replied the query, let us see as things pan out. There's already a discrepancy in the said amount misappropriated. The query wants him to account for over 3 billion, while he claims only 1.8 billion was in the account to begin with. Things obviously don't add up. These are easily verifiable figures, as the statement of accounts from the banks won't lie.
I don't expect the emir to build and fund schools for almajiris from monies allocated to the emirate. That is strictly the responsibility of the state governments. Or you dont think it's the state's responsibility?

Okay no need dissipating energy on the issue. It's been settled during the meeting with Buhari. All these are just activities that will finally put an end to the whole thing.

It answers everything! In law, if you accuse a man of stealing a cow and sue him, you call witnesses and they confirmed that the man actually stole a goat! The court cannot find the accuse guilty! The onus of prove beyond reasonable doubt lies on the prosecution. You said he stole 3.4 billion and it turned out that the money he met in the account was 1.8B, automatically this shows you lied about the amount involve or you didn't know the amount involve, and since you didn't know the amount involve how then can you know if it was mismanaged?! Meaning the whole case was framed in lies.
How then can he be guilty, when you do not know what amount was stolen or mismanaged. It means in law that nothing was mismanaged. Sanusi is light years smarter than Gandolar. Shikina.

Lol this doesn't answer anything. This one reason why corruption is so endemic. Anytime its time for the authorities to investigate anyone some prominent figure jumps to stop the investigation. Let the probe continue to its natural end. If there's evidence of illegality let prosecutors take it to court.

Gandollas time will come. Let them both sit in jail together.

Saying he met 1.6 billion naira at the beginning doesn't explain 4 years of transactions unless you think the account was dormant. It doesnt explain all the transactions to unregistered contractors. It doesn't explain his outrageous phone bills the Emirate racked up. The matter is still under investigation and results of probe haven't been made hence why they asked for suspension.

You believe he's really unaware of everything going on around him? Its really easy to play the masses.

You didn't understand the reply then, the Emir was accused of misappropriation of over N4bn, yet there was less than N2bn in Emirates account when the Emir assumed office.

You clearly didnt read what they accused him of. Did they make up these companies the Emirate contracted with? If theres nothing going on I dont why these prominent figure keep jumping into the issue. Just let investigators do their work. If there's nothing it will settle all doubts.

All the purported companies listed above allegedly carried out contracts with the Emirate Council. These companies are not in existence, as search for their corporate status came out negative and virtually all the purposes for the expenditures, the amount involved and the legal status of the companies revealed prima facie case of fraud in the management of the Emirate Council funds as there were no budgetary provisions to justify the expenditure.

To sum it all One hundred and Seventeen Million Seven Hundred and Seventy Two Thousand Four Hundred and Seventy Four Naira (N117,772,474.00) only were expended on fueling from 2014- 2017 by the Emirate Council, the disparity in the amount so involved, the ratio at which the fuel was consumed from 43 to 22 Million called for suspicion and indicated acts of misappropriation and fraud.

(N54, 111,055.00) were expended by the Emirate Council from 2014 to 2017 on payment of airtime/data to Airtel Network Ltd. mostly on personal phone numbers. In his statement, Isah Bayero denied using his line to incur expenditure worth 25.6 Million while the remaining 29M was incurred by the Emir, his wives and Mannir Sanusi.

You need to understand one fundamental principle in law. If you accuse a man, it has to be precise not a guess work. How can he explain anything when you are dealing with a faulty foundation? The mere fact that the state government did not know how much Sanusi met in that account speaks volumes. The probe should start from his predecessor who is late and not him. Or do you think he wont have a defense for appropriating 1.8B? A former CBN governor? Omo you dey underate am o. Mark my words, Gandolar cannot remove Sanusi, if he tries it, it may consume him. Already the tribunal will sack him. He wants to do the best damage he can now, cos tomorrow is not certain.

The matter is still under investigation if you dont know this. The Kano anti corruption commission recommended suspension because the suspects are involved in suspicious transactions. Did you read everything they accused the Emirate of or just talking based this reply?

The case hasn't been recommended for prosecution by anyone.

I am really concerned for some Nigerians who speak without thinking or understanding issues.

you have already pointed out that Sanusi's cover letter clearly does not address any issue & yet some people are more focused on saying sanusi met less than N2b in 2014 when the query clearly states that a total sum of almost N4b was misappropriated from 2014-2017...

the alleged offence happened over a period of time & not at a go...

sanusi is no different from other looters this nation has been unfortunate to have, his tenure at CBN was riddled with corrupt practices, he is just lucky PMB is in his corner, hence the reluctance to probe him.

Look at one stupid answer that he is not the accountant. So for example as a governor if I ask the commissioner of environment to account for his spending, he will reply me with "I'm not the account of the ministry," "I'm not the finance commissioner" or something related to that.

That's the day I will sack you.
