Samsung UI is boring compared to where I'm coming from. I used a Jiayu device 5years ago and then started using Xiaomi 3years ago both midrange phones before I ported to Samsung flagship i.e Note 9 last year.

- Samsung doesn't have an official app locker on their ui
- No internet speed indicator like it present on miui and every other android out there
- No accurate data monitoring like I had on miui that gives me daily, weekly and monthly metering
- icons and fonts on the smallest scale are still very large for my big screen, where as on Xiaomi I customize my icons and font size to as small as the eye cannot even see
- no good themes and fonts readily available for users all has to be paid for. I had to start using Launcher that I never used for 3years on Xiaomi because of it endless UI customization.
- Miui has Second Space that can literally serve as a second user space just like we have on windows
- Xiaomi also has a dual app features on it UI that can make you duplicate apps
-etc.

So for a phony like me. SAMSUNG UI is pretty boring thus correcting the notion that it interface customization can't be rival by other manufacturers

NOTE::: I saw your mention yesterday, I was too tired to type so I just let it go. But when I saw that the discussion still continued today then I decided to drop this.

Well, we are all entitled to our opinion and I respect yours. But don't forget that all the things you listed above (directly/ indirectly) has to do with customizations, none has to do with display, performance etc which shows the UI is satisfactory in all those aspects. That's enough to make it better than the others.

Now back to customization, most of the things you listed above points to Samsung's old Touchwiz UI. Now, Samsung has a newer and far better One UI which has a fix for most of those cons, with a lot of pros included.

* The secure folder functionality makes app locking a child's play. Just put your Apps in the secure folder and it's safer and more secure than any app locker you've heard of. I've personally bypassed App lockers on people's phone when I really needed to. But not even Samsung's CEO can bypass the secure folder on my phone, only if I give him my fingerprint or iris copy.

** This isnt on Samsung UI for real, but there are other 3rd party apps you could use for this purpose. As far as I know, a phone doesn't necessarily need to have a speed indicator. Even PCs rarely have. You know what to do if you want to know the speed you're browsing with, that's where service providers come in.

*** Samsung has data monitoring and it's okay as far as I know. It tells you what you've used, what you're using and you can even set it to warn you or limit your access at some point.

*** There are unlimited icons, fonts, AOD, themes etc on Samsung that fixes this. Only few comes installed but you have a lot of them curated on your phone for download and use depending on your type of person. In fact, there are a lot of crazy themes specially built and designed for the new S10+, S10, S10e just cuz of the pinhole cameras on those devices. I use a S10+ and I have many of them. I can share you if you like but it'll make no difference on your Note 9 since it doesn't have pinhole design.

*** The secure folder comes into play again here. You can use it as a second space/dual app if you want to. In fact, I use my secure folder a lot since I have a lot of apps there, some are not even on my phone but they are in the SF.

You'll see yourself that Samsung is just too underrated despite having a lot of functionalities you can never find on an iPhone or some other smartphones. It takes a true geek to get the most out of your Sammy device.

6s is about 55k The difference is 38k and i can spend way more than dat on data, so i think a spare device will be better bcus I'm retiring the X5, can't just be using one phone na

A mifi that support glo 4g isn't more than 16k. Get a Mifi. It's more portable and durable

I got my MiFi device (ZTE) on Konga and so far, I've used Airtel, Glo and Ntel as well as MTN lines in it. I got it for 10k last year, shouldn't be more than 12k, or between 10k-12k.

You may check, Airtel is selling their sim with a lot of goodies now, you may take advantage of that for now.

I'm currently using Secure Folder and hidden apps which are the only two app locking mode on Samsung, and were literally just effectively introduced in One UI.... The secure folder serves as dual app and secure folder which still makes no meaning to me except I have a picture/video to hide because that is where hidden apps comes in. Hidden apps hides apps while secure folder should hide folders and files alone. I dont have any need to hide an app as I could have just locked them on my app drawer if that was made an option.

The secure folder making app locking a child's play for other shouldn't be so. Secure folder, app lock and hidden apps are 3 separate things. ---Secure Folder should lock your files,folders,pictures and videos, --- app lock should lock every and any app of your choice while hidden apps should hide the apps you dont want another eye to see.

App locks on every other UI out there locks from contacts to chrome browser which give you a high option and satisfaction of what you want to lock.

There's another dual app functionality on One UI which is called Dual messanger (Screenshot below) now that option only allows a few apps to be dualized as seen below(even tho I still have lots of other messaging apps on my phone that isn't showing on the list) which in the right sense has limited the option of customization on one's phone to one's taste.... on Miui you can dualize any app you want and that's the sweetness of customization (not being limited to some few options)

The icons and Extra small font size is still bigger than my taste

In Data usage you can't justify it by saying

You can't tell me a my phone doesn't neccesarily need a network speed indicator, that should be my option to choose as there's an option to turn it off in most UI out there. I've seen some guys complain about this option on XDA forum before.

So bro you should use other UI before concluding One UI cant be rivaled by any other UI out there in terms of customization which was what I quoted you about. One UI is one of the great UI out there but please it isn't the greatest in terms of customization. And just so you know. Samsung is my 4th android UI and not counting different ported roms I've used

Secure folder is not like an app lock, but like a different profile entirely.

You can use Secure folder for like work purposes, separating business apps, contacts, messages, etc from personal ones.

Also, it wasn't introduced in One UI.
