Been waiting a long time for you to watch the series and give a review. One of my best series of '19. So dope.
The only thing I think is awkward about it is the name.

Loved all the characters and aspects of the show. It's not just a simple Chinese gang war in America. We have politicians, police, Irish gangs!

It may brighten your day to know it's getting a season 2. Cinemax has renewed it.

The name is okay. There is a popular MMA themed film with a similar name, I think.

I want to see Axe and Chuck destroy themselves.

Taylor is a robot. The sooner they wrap up her arc, the better for everyone - I just can't stand her stupid face. The primary theme has always been about Chuck vs Axe. I'm glad it's back on the menu, at least, but the writers need to get rid of that non-binary robot asap.

Best thing about that show were the soundtracks. They had a very positive impact on my music library. Else, how would I have known about Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas, Bad Moon Rising by Clear Water Revival, Heat of The Moment by Asia, Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Changes by Bowie, Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi, Somebody to Love by Queen, House of the Rising Sun by the Animals, etc.

It got to a point that I started to watch it mainly for the premium soundtracks, rather than the plot lines, which as a matter-of-fact, got very repetitive post season 5. Unfortunately at season 8, I had to finally call it quits, cuz even though the soundtracks still remain the high point of the show, they weren't enough to keep me invested, for I couldn't stomach the repetitive plot lines any longer.

You forgot to add "O Death" by Ralph Stanley. Some of the Classical pieces were cool. But so much urban rock which till now I don't know why Americans fancy their native rock tracks.

I thought this show was incredible. DuVernay really did a phenomenal job with this mini series and I hope she just sticks to doing stuff like this and not crap like A Wrinkle in Time. So many emotions were happening while I was watching this, and as good as the first half is the second half of this show is just downright amazing IMO and an emotional rollarcoaster, especially that last episode. I always knew Jharrel Jerome had talent after seeing him in stuff like Moonlight and Mr. Mercedes, but here he just takes it to a whole other level.

The dude deserves all the awards recognition he can get as does Felicity Huffman who is just great at being such an unlikable character. Seriously, her performance was almost too convincing.

I agree. They should get rid of her. I think axe has something up his sleeves. Aside his feud with chuck, I think he is going to completely destroy Taylor. Axe doesn't forgive easily.
