Why not email your documents to the translator in Abuja and have it waybill it back to you when he is done? Last time I contacted Lagos, they told me that they were booked all through July. I had to travel all the way to Abuja to authenticate my documents and then see a translator same time.

This was late May 2019. However, the translator in Abuja(who once worked with the Italian Consulate for 16 years before retiring) is gradually becoming occupied with work. As at then, he said my documents will be ready for pick up mid June. He works in a first pay first served basis and not first come first served as he showed me a lot of documents he pushed aside before queuing mine up cos the owners never paid or committed him to show seriousness.

His name is Mr. Oluga.

Can you please share her contact with us? Thanks

Cheers

Guys, the embassy said it is not mandatory to translate your documents to Italia. Is there any other reason why people are translating?

From testimonies I have read, translation is necessary if you must succeed to pass through the Consulate in Lagos. Also note that, Consulate and embassy are different entities. I stand to be corrected though. For the Consulate, you have to translate your documents and then they legalize it. While at the embassy, you do not need to. That's where you will add your bank statement, pay slips, letter of employment (if employed) and so on...

But can the embassy legalize your documents for you?

So, what of DOV
... I don't even know the meaning... Can you help with this?

PEAJEG:

A very big YES. However, since you want to study in Europe, I will advise you take proactive steps by first authenticating your documents at the Ministries of Education and then Foreign Affairs. That way, once your admission is out, you will then be left to battle with TRANSLATION of your documents before you book your appointment for LEGALIZATION .

Hope this helps? Cheers.

Thanks for this info but I’d like to ask if you have any official link for this apart from testimonies?
I have attached a copy of the email from vfs and I wonder why they’ll say this if it’s really important

Y'all better prepare yourselves for the worst form of racism, don't blame the locals alone, also blame the illegal African migrants who have tarnished the image of blacks in Italy, if you're fragile and leave for Europe especially Italy, Spain and their neighbors, you'ld regret being black, just saying!

VFS's business is ONLY to receive your Visa Application when you apply. However, enrolment and legalization of your documents are done at the Italian consulate. Nothing concern VFS with that. Also, nothing concerns VFS if you choose to translate your documents or not. There own is just to receive visa applications and if you didn't do the right thing, then you will make it easier for them to deny you.

Please, I will advise,

1. Authenticate your documents at the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs.
2. Translate those same documents authenticated with a translator.
3. Book for Pre enrolment and legalization at the Consulate in Lagos.
4. After that, that's when they will process your DOV.
5. Collect your legalized documents, assemble all other supporting documents needed for your Visa application (like proof of housing/ accommodation in Italy, sponsor's bank statement, etc. Get this list from their website). Note that at this stage, it is not COMPULSORY to translate these supporting documents.
6. Apply for your Visa and await the outcome.

I wish us all good luck.

Cheers.

It is one of the crucial processes. So it is very necessary.... Don't miss it. However, if you don't meet up with the pre enrolment date of 24th July, 2019, you may have to wait for another academic session window to open. Unfortunately, most schools in Italy would not allow you to defer your admission, meaning that sadly you will have to reapply from the scratch...

So the earlier the better guys.

Hello please on the legalization and pre enrollment, I got a reply and a date from the consulate. Please how much is the fees for legalization and pre enrollment. I have checked through previous messages and this question as not been answered. Thanks guys.
Re: Italian Student Visa-help! by Twhizzy2: 4:52pm On Jun 17, 2019
It depends on the number of your documents. A friend told me he spent above 40k. Just go with enough cash.

How far is the appointment date they gave you to when you emailed them? I'm getting my translated Docs next week. I'm thinking of booking ahead so I can beat the waiting time.

Okay thanks still not really clear, 40k for both legalization and pre-enrollment right?

I sent a mail last friday and got a reply today for next monday, so I will say a week after my mail.

Please anyone on the amount spent or billing. Thank you

For Pre enrolment, its N19,300. However for legalization, it depends on the number of documents you want to legalize. However, I will advise you go with enough money. Legalization of Academic credentials are free, but the rest, you will need to pay for. Someone I know said she legalized her NPC Attestation of birth for N11,600. So if that's the cost, then multiply it the number of documents you will be going with (MINUS academic documents). That is what yours will be.

However, also bear in mind to go with
1. Your form A (Pre enrolment form) duly filled, signed and with N19300.
2. 2 or more passport photographs
3. Your Admission letter.
4. Copy or international passport.
5. All authenticated and translated documents

Good luck.

I got shortlisted for scholarship interview by the Italian government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.

Any detailed info about the interview would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
