FacelessKing: Political? Who is the head of the state in question? Who is in charge of fund allocation? Who has been calling the shots in Delta state for the last 20 years? Did the issue of flooding start recently? Was it not one of the campaign mandates of Okowa? I care not about parties or politics. Okowa has failed! Period! |

FacelessKing: We deserve whatever the government throw at us. Come and see the drains constructed on our street less than two months ago. Some Residents already turned it into waste bin. I just shake my head. 1 Like |

Bloooody:Clogged or unclogged. Flood will come if it will. We've seen it in developed countries. Nonetheless, the right culture must be maintained in minimizing effects of such |

olisaEze: U need to understand what he's saying. dumping of refuse, plastic bottle n sachet on the road n drainage most time cause blockage for free flow, which lead to flood. |

Maybe you are a government man or a beneficiary, I still blame the government 100% for underdevelopment considering the fact that in saner climes you don't build open drains in and around town, underground drains are the norm. If that gutter was covered or underground that lil innocent girl wouldn't have been swept away so easily. May her soul R.I.P FacelessKing: 1 Like |

TommyAnthem:Give it to the people and government equally. When it's raining, go out and see what people do. Some will do number 2 in their houses and pour them on the gutter very early in the morning. Nigerian government are Nigerian people. If you become one of them tomorrow, u will do exactly what they are doing now. |

xpool: Do you live there? How does non-biodegradable refuse relate to the flooding in okpanam? Don’t be in a hurry to display your ignorance of a topic in public next time. |

Thanks, I love that statement "giving it to the people and government" But Let sanity start from government and you will see positive vibes from the people, what you see in people is a reflection of what they get from government. "Like begets like" sassysure: |

olisaEze:Your mumu don do. Littering and dumping of refuse on the roads and into drainages by you and your families in okpanam and Asaba are parts of the reasons gutters don't flow. You always look for who to blame for all your problems. If your mumu never do, quote me again. 1 Like |

xpool: Small pikin trying to sound witty but not intelligent enough to cut it. Pray tell, do u stay there? If you don’t then how would you know that refuse is causing the flooding there, abi that is the only reason ur ‘ota akara’ teacher taught you? Redirect ur tantrums and unintelligent outbursts at someone closer to ur level.

Re: Heavy Flood Sweeps Away 12-Year-old Girl In Delta (Viewers Discretion) by LadyJasper: 6:37am On Jun 15, 2019 |
olisaEze:He is right. Littering the gutters with rubbish takes up spaces in the gutter that ought to be for water to be channeled out. This results in the roads being flooded because there is no channel for it to flow out. We need to stop pouring dirt into our gutters. P. S. I'm familiar with that area, and there are rubbish on the gutters. |

Re: Heavy Flood Sweeps Away 12-Year-old Girl In Delta (Viewers Discretion) by olisaEze(m): 7:29am On Jun 15, 2019 |
LadyJasper: The constructed gutters are too small for the amount of rain water that is generated from that hilltop town of Okpanam. Kudos to the present Governor for tackling the problem head on, by expanding and reconstructing the drains unlike the previous guy that just built the road without a proper drainage system. Now would u say that the flooding of shoprite & dbs road is caused by refuse and litter? I don’t live there, but I have family & friends in Asaba |
