DJInfluence: Let me put some perspectives to this.. 1. Banks are within legal limit to give POS machines to registered businesses, SMEs and traders. That is why banks are by law required to run background checks aprior. 2. POS are registered and the ones used for fraud are less likely to be the legitimate ones. 3. There are syndicates (international at that) that specialises in and perpetrate POS fraud. They clone machines, cards, hack into networks, work through willing and gullible collaborators. |

erico2k2: I agree anyone can be anything online, but the joke is on you. Your submission on how to track POS fraud is not only wattery but ridiculous and I wanted you to know that you're talking to someone who was actively in the business and has the know-how. Secondly, your comprehension needs some fine-tuning; go back and check the discussion you quoted, look at the trail of discussion 3 of us were having. We expressed concerns of the first set of reaction to the topic. It is you that needs to properly understand context before jumping into people's post. If you had posted your submission solo, I'll have had no issue. |

mapet:This is coming from a person who is found only on the Politics, ROMANCE and JOKES section on Nairaland U got jokes mate You are here blabbing and talking about a perceived narrative you and two others have and you reckon your views are superior to others. YOu blatantly labelled all that questioned the way EFCC was going about this POS issue as aiding crime. So in your wrapped sense of understanding, we have no moral right or justification to criticise EFCC if one feels so.We dey criticise the MET police nah EFCC bro please go back to Romance Section |
Re: EFCC To Go After Those Using POS Machines Illegally by mapet: 9:43am On Jun 14, 2019 |
erico2k2: All these can be addressed. I'll suggest you read up on these and not saddle me with what you can read up, cos all I can deduce from your submission is a case of someone that needs understanding.... 1. No 1 has to do with security of the banks and switching coy. As security measures are updated so are vulnerabilities continues to be exploited. 2. I cannot be going through the rigor of explaining various dimensions of internal collaboration to you. Pls read it up 3. That you do not know that POS devices can be cloned..........I give up. Google is your friend |

distributeinc:Bro I think you get teh gist wrong, no one dising EFCC, if they go after the banks, but me and you know they wont, we are more of teh side hustlers who provide service of money withdrawers where there aent no POS, I once used this said service wen i got stranded in Shagamu on way from lagos last year and also at eh Benin Toll gate with Customs at 1130pm. |
Re: EFCC To Go After Those Using POS Machines Illegally by Nobody: 12:32pm On Jun 14, 2019 |
erico2k2:Yes, I know, but that is what they are saying, trying to hold the bank responsible, to ensure pos don't get to the hands of unscrupulous people...if you are legit, no cause for alarm...I support due diligence on this. |

Re: EFCC To Go After Those Using POS Machines Illegally by DJInfluence: 12:34pm On Jun 14, 2019 |
mapet:So based on your 3rd point, we do need a security agency to fight this and so far only EFCC is coming up with something. So i still think, they should be commended and not crucify by some here. I don´t think anyone of use would like to be a victim to such crime. |

Re: EFCC To Go After Those Using POS Machines Illegally by TheAdvocate(m): 2:30pm On Jun 14, 2019 |
EFCC cannot insist that banks should freeze any account on the basis of a letter of investigation. The only situation where the banks are expected to freeze an account is only when there is an order of court to that effect. EFCC should obey the law too. The days of arbitrary freezing of accounts on flimsy and foolish reasons are over. |
