This is sad to see and read. There is a lot of poor safety and traffic controls in Nigeria, especially in Lagos. Nigeria is not the only country that utilize trucks for haulage and logistics. However, time over time, we get to see similar accidents and nothing is being done.

In other countries, safety conditions of vehicle is very paramount. I will not only hold the government responsible even though they have the highest responsibility to ensure safety. However, Nigerians do not care about each other. There is no duty of care. Why would people ply roads with vehicles in terrible conditions?

People go to prison, have the license revoke or cars impounded for violating traffic laws or having unsafe vehicle on public roads. In Nigeria, this is not the case. You see written off vehicles still plying the road and people thanking their God when they escape accidents or traffic safety officers interested in financial gains than the lives of people.

If nothing is being done, I’m afraid accidents will keep happening. We cannot wish accidents away in Nigeria if there is no action to correct the mishaps.

I say a big thank you to God for making me a father and I appreciate my woman for not giving up on me while I was balling with different women, more love to my son Jared for coming through me.

As for Nigeria, May God give us good leaders that will treat us as humans and do the needful at the right time
I doubt you will have time for this rubbish epistle if you had lost someone close to that mishap.
Why are we so insensitive?

Kai. What's really happening these days. This is too tragic!

You just have no compassion.
You are so blinded by tribalism that you don't even know if your kinsman is in one of those cars.
What has tribalism got to do with this now?

The letter "O" is far from the letter "A" on the phone keyboard so it's not a matter of being a mistake.
Kindly go back to school sir.
And pls don't even bother to respond to this.

This avoidable accident keeps happening every time and nobody is doing anything about the mess. How can they be putting containers on bed without tying/clipping them to avoid eventful fall coupled with our bad roads that subjects these vehicles to bend beyond balance. I feel so pained right now. Imagine having a relative in one of those trapped vehicles, you understand the feeling exactly.

Truth is that government knows what to do, but because they are major owners of this containers, they careless. There are laws guiding trailers, but same, government are never serious about laws because Nigerian law makers are bribe taken officers. This evil should runs through the leaders should always happen to the leaders so that Nigeria will become a better country again. Containers are supposed to be clamped to the trailers, but no, owners are too big to follow laws of the land. A country of No Laws, No Rules and No Standards. Anything goes, meanwhile they all travel abroad with people taxes for free, yet, they wont replicate what they see there because of greed for monies stolen. Vampires that's who they all are.

Just few nights ago, I was in a heated argument with some navy officials who allowed trucks to park on 3 lanes while leaving just one for us to manage thereby causing traffic and all they could tell me was to go and complain in Abuja

If this Apapa area was some rural area in the country, perhaps I would understand but to think that this is the gateway to the nation's number one sea port that generates huge revenue for the government.... I'm speechless !

The first rail station was opened in Nigeria in 1898 by the British for transportation of people and large goods, fast forward to 120 years later, we are unable to boost of the same transpotatiom system that has been in existance for more than 200 years for the same purpose, I believe there is a fundamental issue with the black race.
BLACKMAN lacks administrative qualities.
We only know how to impregnate ladies and bear innumerable kids while waiting to be bestowed a useless chieftaincy title.

It's good to call out the government but all these Celebrities can also register a Co-operative Society and start assisting the government and sensitising the Public. Government is the collective effort of the people to ensure sanity in the society.
So that the government will be left to have free day to continue to embezzle more money. Disgrace is what the celebrities should give to them and to conglomerates who control these trailers, but they wont because their living large is from them.

until a top politician wife , child or even he himself dies in such a tragedy , nothing will be done.
secondly , Nigerians too should start been cautious since they know that the nation has no sensible responsible government that sees these things ,they too should prevent it , NO MATTER HOW URGENT THE PLACE YOU ARE GOING IS OR HOW LATE YOU ARE , PLEASE NEVER STAY BESIDE A TRAILER WITH A CONTAINER ON IT , ALLOW ANYONE THAT INSULTS YOU TO GO THERE INSTEAD . i am always shocked when i see ppl in traffic jams staying righ beside these trailers knowing fully well the dangers and risks posed by them

He actually has a point but you are not seeing it.What he meant is this:Your tribe can have the number 1 to 10 position in the country but guess who will gain from it?It is them and their families. It never trickles down to the common man.

Calling out on social media is not enough.
The anger has to leave social media. It has to leave our bedrooms. It has to leave our minds. The heat of the anger has to melt away trivial tribal and religious sentiments. The anger has to bind all Nigerians together to come out and demand good governance and the removal of the old order.

Until then,things will get worse.
