Does the spouse have any prior known renal issues? You may have to do private medical check with kidney specialists before your application. So sorry about this, you will be fine.
yes i think the first thing to do is to visit a Kidney specialist, preferrably in a teaching hospital. if there is no real issue get them to isuue you a medical report stating it and submit it to the hospital.

Again you can also ask the hospital on the next line of action.

Good luck, and i hope it isn't anything serious.

The cold is very terrible. In fact, the population is less than 100k in Canada now because of the cold. All those who migrated to Canada have relocated to Danaca because of the cold. It is -50°C all year round and it is hard to survive there, no sun at all throughout the year.

I will advise you to stay back in Nigeria and enjoy your 40°C weather

My Landing Gist!

Fast forward to my special Democracy Day June 12 wink, I left the house with my family at 9am for my 1:40pm flight and got to the airport in less than 30 minutes. I had prepared my mind to pay for small excess luggage because I got tired of constantly weighing my two bags at home a night before and just decided to pack (if only I started my packing early enough undecided). Got to the airport and weighed the 1st bag - 24.5kg, I heaved a sigh of relief thinking the second bag will weigh almost the same, only to put it on the scale and saw 30.4kg shocked. I was like 'Ahn ahn from where? Oga please adjust this your scale well.' Na so the attendant ask 'Madam no be you pack the bag yourself?' undecided.. After all the talk, I had to either remove some things or pay $63 (N22,700) for the 8 extra Kg. I know I initially expected to pay for extra luggage but not this much abeg. So I decided to remove some things from my bag but when there was still no significant decrease in the weight and time was just going, I grudgingly agreed to pay the money since I'm not even cargoing anything. Went to their office to make the payment and that's how their network was slow *smh*, those ones sha wasted my time a little plus they didn't even give me my change angry. Finally paid, checked in and said Goodbyes to my loved ones. I was initially forming hard girl oh but one last look at my father's face just made my tears come out of their hiding place cry. Well, went through immigration and one officer asked if I wanted to buy her water, like that's now the coded way of - find me something lol.

So from Lagos - Addis Ababa - Dublin (to refuel) - Toronto - Edmonton. Meehn longest flight ever! Was as if I became stiff from too much sitting at some point. In-flight entertainment was good though, plus the food too. Those Ethiopians were just serving food like every 3 hours - 'chicken or beef?' grin.. Landed in Toronto and my landing process was a breeze! *Tip: when booking your flight, select a seat infront so that you'll be one of the first people to come out of the aircraft and get to immigration desk; this is not a time to be a back-bencher pls*. I was only asked basic questions of my purpose for coming to Canada and my address for PR card delivery. No plenty talk, no request for POF. Was told to keep my COPR well because it will come in handy often and even when it's time to collect pension. I did my SIN, got my luggage and passed customs with no questions asked, only submitted the Declaration form I filled.

Toronto's airport is big! Please ask questions to avoid stories that touch. I made it in time for my 12:30pm flight to Edmonton only to get delayed for an hour 30 mins inside the aircraft. Finally landed in Edmonton and went home to a nice meal of rice and vegetable sauce (team healthy eating cool). Today is a resting day for me, would open bank account and get a health card tomorrow.

To everyone on this journey, thanks for all the helpful information and may our new land favour us all.
Congratulations... I am also planning on landing in Edmonton, still at AOR stage though. When you said you were asked your purpose of coming to Canada, what was your response? I am practically combing the internet for information before I check out.

One other question, is it advisable to travel in December? I am expecting my PPR to fall between October and December.

Your reason for coming to Canada is for permanent residence...simple. You don't have to give any other reason.

Better to make your travel plans for March, biko. You would be coming to face the harsh winter cold if you come December and practically no one would volunteer to help you get around during that time, combined with the fact that you arent used to the transit system yet. My advice though, take at your discretion.

Hi Eddy4400,
1. How many days were you giving to submit the required documents after informing CIC about your marriage?
2. Did your spouse complete medicals before or after you raised the CSE?
3. And at what point did you have to submit your passport & COPR for cancellation?
Thanks

1. 30days

2. After I sent a mail to my VO, started gathering docs while waiting for the Request Letter, but Qlife refused to schedule an immediate appointment without this letter stating the 30days deadline. So spouse completed medicals after VO responded with a Request Letter for additional docs.

3. Submitted a few days after I got the Request Letter cos every other doc is to be uploaded via your CIC account anyways. However, you're required to submit within same 30days deadline from date on Request Letter.
