Tariffs are a TAX on the consumer, so it only makes consumer goods from Mexico more expensive as well as US goods produced with Mexican components (such as US automobiles). Even Republicans in Congress kicked against Mexican tariffs and were set to vote it down - before Trump backed down and began touting an agreement agreed to last year (2018) as a “new” deal.

Tarrifs as defined by CNN, But here is how it works - Mexico pays heavy fines, (Tarrifs) the US treasury cash in to care for the illegal migrants before they get deported back, which ICE (according to Trump) is starting a mass deportation drive in a few days.

The US is a free market economy, if the prices of Mexican goods increase, the local substitutes for such goods will get a look in or non-tarrifed substitutes from other places like Brazil or Panama gets a look by the consumer. No one is holding a gun to anyone's head to buy mexican goods. I discovered how American consumers think some 15 years ago, when a 99 cents store moved into my neighborhood. Do you know the one dollar store by the corner lost all her customers to the 99 cents store and they had to pack up? DAMN IT, you dont know Americans. If your goods prices increase, nobody will see TRUMP while paying at the cash register, they see your goods getting unfairly increased and they will move on to other things- and you, whose goods prices got increased will feel the pinch of the consumer's decision to move on to other products.

It is Mexico that will have to make a decision if allowing Migrants from all over the world come in thru their country is enough "benefit" for them to incur the "cost" of tarrif from the US

Let me school u a bit on tarrifs, using Nigeria as an example. When Obasanjo during his military regime banned "Hollandis" and other foreign fabrics, and imposed tarrifs on foreign wine in 1978 - while nationalizing some multinational companies in Nigeria , did you hear that Nigeria went into recession then? HECK NO - Nigerians who couldnt afford the european wine like Campari switched to local substitute gin like Seaman's Aromatic schnapps... and even locally brewed beer like SKOL, Gulder, Harp and Star Lager Beer.

TRUMP is not your everyday "hungry" politician - He is just having fun doing what he loves doing. Most of those people kicking against him - even republicans in congress get campaign donations from special interest or lobbyist loyal to mexico, so never judge their behavior as a rebuttal of every day Americans to TRUMP's policies.

Yes, Mexico did not cave, but the fear of next Monday hastened their troops to the border, which they didn't do since the agreement (which you claimed was signed since last year)
