I really appreciate the effort of everyone in this platform for sharing their experience in order for others to prepare their self.I actually had an interview last year 24th of May but i was denied and why explaining the scenario to my uncle that has been in US for the past 40th years he promised to send me an IV that one of his daughter will be getting married this year July 20th wish he did.My challenge now is that I did not have a strong home tie and good job here in Nigeria.Anyone with similar case with the likely interview questions to be preparing for should please with due respect share with me.Thanks in anticipation!

Is it approved, July your priority day is current, all your mom needs to do is to go online and follow the steps to pay for you visas, it takes 1-2 days and you need to be ready for interview with whatever you need from Nigeria, medical, birth certificates, I don't remember what else, your visa approval notice, A number, etc. Ask your mom and start doing all ASAP, if you are ready, you are approved in 2-3 weeks and traveling.
But your mom needs to pay your visas online ASAP because in a month or 2 the Visa Bulletin can move back and you could miss this Current stage.

He was previously denied a visa (he did not tell us why), he has no strong home ties and no serious job. He is only visiting to attend the wedding of a family member. If you were the VO, what do you think you would do?

Did your mom get approval to her petition? You need to have the copy of her petition and the petition approval.

Anyways, to restate to the response that was given to you by another poster you might not be to get an earlier date for your mother-in-law just to go visit her daughter for birthing.

The months between May and until September are the very high peak periods for travelling and also the period where everyone has already secured in advance interviews date for visiting the US.

Your school should have sponsored you since it's work related.

How can your mum pay for your trip for an academic conference when you are a lecturer? Isn't that funny to you too?

How disappointing that must have been for you. However, there were a lot of red flags as others have pointed out. Why would your Mum sponsor you for a conference if it is one recommended by the school school while you are earning good money. I wish we could stop treating visa interviews as 'kalo kalo' or 'try your luck'. Please give it a break

Stay away from US embassy if you have no genuine reason for traveling!!! We wey de get visa since kpiridim still have tough interview sessions not to talk of fresh applicants.

Pls have been a silent reader for a while now,a friend has an issue.an agent advice his brother to use her sister as wife since they consider married than single for tourist visa after the whole process they are been rejected.lately the brother met a US citizen in lagos and they are planning to settle down soon.
The agent change both the sister's father and mother's name.the brother is currently in nigeria.if the US citizen file for the brother how is he going to help her sister come around to US since they no longer bearing the same surname?if he fills the divorce how is he going to help her sister come around ?
