Explore OTHER OPTIONS other than force. For example, If Boko Haram is meeting some of the social needs of the local communities, Government should bridge the gap as beneficiaries are likely to join Boko Haram.

Imagine nonsense

Nairalanders and fellow Nigerians please let's for a minute assume and imagine what would have happened if this Boko Haram and bandits and Fulani herdsmen where Christians imagine how this Islamic people would have been going around school LA, churches and villages to kill women and children and blaming their religion and it's activities for making Nigeria not to grow and move forward... Just imagine for a moment if Christians publicly claimed responsibility for bombings and attacks and insurgency, imagine how the military would have been flexing muscles... I'm not trying to ignite religious sentiments but let's just imagine if things where the other way round... You won't see the muric man reacting to things like this or a public protest

Muslims have died more than Christians in the hands of boko haram so shut up already

SMH....

Na today! It's better they do all they can to kill as many boko haram as possible rather than giving them a soft landing.

On the recent attacks in the state and what the government is doing to fight insecurity the governor said: “The issue of security is not one you discuss anyhow. But the government of the state is collaborating with the military and other security agencies to ensure that the citizens are well protected

At no point did the governor in the report advocate that government should stop using force on Boko Haram.

The above is what the governor actually said about the millitary.

But the sad thing is that the misleading headline is what people would read.

I hate defending the government of the North East. They are ulitmately responsible for Boko Haram, but the governor did not say anything against army not using force on Boko.

Force should not be used on a blood thirsty terrorist group?

Indeed, Northern leaders are the problems of northern Nigeria as relates to insurgency ..

Henceforth, no more RIP from me when Boko Haram attacks..

Because if boko haram is completely tammed ,they will loose, as it turns out a set of northern elites are benefitting from this insurgency.

boko haram is a political tool used by the greedy politicians up there to enrich and enlarge their unfillable pockets.

These were the exact words of Mr. Shehu, a Bornu indigene who relocated to Ibadan because of Boko Haram menace.

He told me clearly that Boko Haram has no solution because it has been commercialized.

You are right.

Honestly, Nairaland is becoming a place where incitment and bigotry on both sides of the poltical divide is becoming common.

If anyone cared to read the article, the governor talked about also other alternatives, in addition to using force.

No where did he say government should stop fighting Boko Haram.

I fear for Lagos, if you live in Lagos, you would agree with me that these boko guys are now plenty living amongst Lagosians. As bikes men, gate men, Hawkers and many other things.

They troop into Lagos on a daily, that no one is even taking note.

From ajah, lekki, VI to mainland, to Okoko to badagry.

I just pray the worst never happen.
Cos these guys can be good one moment and turn evil the next moment.

And a lot of these guys are trooping in like flocks.

May God help us.

And to think the governor of such state is pleading for mercy for those merciless people speaks volume of what is actually going on.
