Truth is one can be gifted with the 'rare ability to switch between two accents almost effortlessly. I do possess this rare ability and it made me popular back in the days . I'm reminded of those moments as an undergrad at ABU when my admirers asked Me to teach them how do a British accent. The urge to learn stuff like this was written all over them and I took delight in those moments.

Reno's example doesn't prove anything at all ; it's a well packaged lie he told himself and others . What's the fuss about accent opening doors ? He wanted to make this a hard and fast rule on success.

Life is not the same chapter for everyone. Do what suits you .

Truth is the only accent or language that can open doors these days is programming. If u can learn one. You're accent doesn't matter. Nigerian or American. Code is the new cool.

While I agree 100% with Reno on this, there is a caveat. We should not mistake sounding Nigerian with mispronouncing words. I do not tolerate my foreign colleagues when they mispronounce my name, ditto we shouldn't mispronounce English words in the wind of Nigerianess.
