Hi Ddoc. I understand that you understand yourself clearly well. Please do yourself some good by reading through the pages so you can have an idea of what you are opting for. No matter how little, knowledge is important. All the best boss

Sorry if you didn't understand me, I know I don't have all the information but I have started from page 1 of this thread and I'm still reading. However I need some urgent advice on what to do, Firstly is certification necessary for me that applied directly to the school?

Also I certified documents at embassy using application form for a school that just sent me letter of decline, and the second school I'm still praying for admission, I have not certified the documents cos I don't have the application letter which is needed by embassy.
I know you can Certify at high Court but do they also need the application forms you used to apply to the particular school?

1. The embassy did not state whether Certification can be done by proxy.
I once saw someone said that if there is an official declaration from you, probably signed in court (not sure about that), given to the person, he should be allowed to certify for you.

If this arrangement doesn't work,or isn't convenient, just certify at high court. No one needs to check your identity

2. You can't Certify at the embassy without Application form of the school it's meant for.
Thanks.

Good day guys, just joining this thread today. I started processing my admission but I have a situation right now. Sorry if it's long but pls bear with me.

Firstly someone used uni assist to process admission for me while I was serving last year, it didn't work out cos the guy applied for scholarship so my mum said I should do it on my own. I tried to use uni assist but because the guy used his own email address I couldn't create an new account with my info.
Would have spoken to that guy to give me the password but my mum said I shouldn't do any business with that guy again.

So I went on to use DAAD and applied directly to two schools. I finished NYSC in March and applied in april

The first one sent me my application form after I applied while the second one didn't, I saw somewhere that we should certify so I went to the German embassy and certified for the first school that gave me admission. Kiel university.

Now I got a letter of decline from Kiel University, I'm heartbroken now. Cos I'm waiting for the second university, Bonn university as my last hope of admission this year.

I haven't even certified for Bonn cos I don't have the application letter and I don't know how the cost and process for high Court certification is.

Also what do I do with certification if I didn't apply with uniassist?
Are you going for a Masters or bachelors and whats your preferred course?

you are expecting admission from a school you are yet to send your certified application documents to, how's that possible?
did you read the admission procedures very well on the school website before applying?

I think I understand what you mean.

However, the two advices you've been given so far are very valid. You need to read more from this thread.

Well, From my analysis, you don't appear to be engrained in the modus operandi of this processing.

1. Different schools have different mode of Application. Some will ask you to upload your documents online ALONE, for some, after uploading online, they'll ask you to print your application form and send with certified documents. Some don't need online uploads, just fill and print the Application form on your computer and send with certified copies

So, your school ultimately decides whether you're certifying or not.
You were talking about Bonn, well, to the best of my knowledge, cos I applied for 5 different courses there, they don't ask for certified documents (I can't say for your own course). I only uploaded my documents on their portal.

2. Certifying at the embassy requires the Application form of the school you're applying to.
If Bonn requires you to send certified copies, then open the portal where you uploaded your documents, you'll find your application form as a PDF document. Download it and print, and take to embassy with the other documents for Certification.

3. Try to retrieve your Uni-assist Account. If it's not possible, then open another one, incase you might need it later. As regards Uni-assist, you only need to send them 1 set of certified documents even if you're applying to 10 different schools.

Please ensure you read the thread well. You can always ask questions, but be sure that we will know , from the type of questions you ask, whether you're truly reading up.

I wish nairaland has somewhere you can reply with a voice note. It makes explanation easier grin

Good luck with Bonn.

I applied to both schools but Cologne sent me a mail that they were excluding my application cos I didn't have up to 18ects in Economics.

On the other hand, Niederrhein sent me a mail that they had received my application from uni-assist. They made it clear that they will only take 2 non EU applicants.

In life, never rule out anything whatsoever. It's far better to make attempt and fail than not to make at all. Get up bro, make that move and suppress that negative thoughts.

As regards your case, make up your mind and be ready to address the issues as they come. I have seen people get admissions in just one week after submitting their application. I have seen people getting Visa Approval Mails in just one month interval countless of times even.

I don't know your financial status, but am only making an assumption of its availability as you might need to do some things expressly considering you don't have the luxury of time.

I would suggest you be very proactive as this is what is required of you now. First and foremost, go through each of this aforementioned schools you listed and if possible get some others, check out what their different requirements states, and start gathering the documents in no distant time. Go back to your school, meet the people at the transcript section, grease their palms oga, tell them you don't have time and would appreciate they make it available for you quickly. If they insist on not giving you by hand, provide a company address you have access to or better still address it to a departmental HOD of another school, close to you while you go meet the HOD and explain to him. Also try to get letter of English language proficiency either from your department or from the registrar office. Once this is done, quickly certify the documents in accordance with what the schools stipulates. After this package your application for sending. Before you send them, lay your hands on the different applications, pray fervently for favors and send them using courier service. Be expectant and start making plans about your visa interview appointment.

Sorry for the long sermon, just felt like giving it to you in details so as to encourage you further. I wish above all things you prosper and make good progress. All the very best. Shalom
Thanks for this reply..God bless you

THANKS SO MUCH I REALLY APPRECIATE THIS

Good Afternoon o. please I'm just about applying for Childhood studies also in postdam. Please is Uniassist compulsory and again, doss one need a letter of motivation also??
For the English Proficiency, can I write it myself or my school has to write it for me
Please I await ur reply. Thanks

Hello, sorry for the late reply.

Uni-assist is very important for applications to most German schools especially Potsdam.

Yes. You need to write a Motivational letter. Kindly check through Google to find very well written samples and write yours. That should go well, I guess.

Well, Potsdam don't need EPL (maybe some courses do, but mine doesn't ), and NO you can't write an EPL yourself. It has to be from your school.

Hope this helped?

Regards.
