He did say she was trying to take half. Which implies that she was aiming to share it equally. I don’t see greed there.
She just assumed since there’s two of them, splitting in half would be appropriate.
She failed to ask him what his opinion is. You know that in many Nigerian homes, the older party (or in this case ‘superior’ party) decides who gets what and how much they get.

She has to be smart and eat as much during the boiling, frying and sauce making process- like taste, like taste you eat to your satisfaction! Whatever you dish out during the eating period, let him eat it alone . Say thanks babes I'm going vegan if offered some.

She had not known the guy well and asking jokingly would have solved the whole issue.

The guy is bad news to me anyways.

Someone who can tell you to stand up while eating because you ate fish without his permission would slap the person if she disagreed with him.
