Please for those who are experienced or have any idea, why would a mechanic use foam to block one of the chambers in the iacv? Went to oyingbo to change my o2 sensor so luvinhubby hooked me up with some guys there. While the o2 sensor was being changed I complained about experiencing rough idle so the throttle body was removed and thoroughly serviced only for the technician to remove the iacv to find out that one of the chambers was blocked with foam. I also read somewhere where someone had this same thing done on his car. Please was it done to manage a problem, if so what type of problem is that? However, since the service was done and the iacv changed, I have not had issues with rough idling and when the ac is turned on the idle no longer fluctuates. Although one thing I have noticed after the service is that I have not been able to idle consistently at 1000rpm no matter how much adjustment I do except when I put on the ac for some sec before it normalizes to 1000rpm. It usually starts higher (2000rpm) then settles down to 1500rpm. Thanks.
2000rpm is way too high.
I'd advice they take a look at the throttle body and idle control system. Also let them check for vacuum leaks too.

I have been tweeking and messing with the throttle cable, not sure though, but I think I have been able to get it to 1000rpm without ac on. But with ac on it hangs around 800rpm. Will observe and see how well it works. Thanks though.

Currently writing the 4th edition to my Guide to ride-share.
Rideshare has grown immensely since I wrote the last edition, new companies are strutting their stuff in the rideshare space and it is now clear that rideshare is here to stay.
Companies like Max.ng, Gokada, Oride are growing.
If you aren't looking at getting a bigger share of the pie yet, you absolutely should be.
I will be making major changes to make sure I capture all of the necessary I formation and none of the unnecessary.
This new version is focused on how to earn the most money from rideshare.
As usual if you have already bought a copy then updates will be pushed to your email absolutely free.
I can't say when it will be out yet as it feels like a totally new project. I'll make sure to keep everyone updated.
Thanks and Cheers everyone.

My main issue with him is the fact that he bets daily, I had to go thru his posts, how can somone that plays bet9ja everyday pay his school fees, if I'm to assist him, I'll rather pay directly to his school portal. Never trust a gambler
Be assured that the 30k is meant to fund his bookie so as to bet for AFCON.

The damn thing just won't stay. I thought I had been able to figure it out but I noticed that each time I turn the car on after I let it rest a bit it shoots up again. To get it back down I need to on the ac for say 5-8sec, put it off, and then the rpm begins to drop. I guess the next thing will be to check for vacuum leak like you suggested as I have already serviced the throttle body and changed the iacv.

I strongly believe the IACV is the culprit, but still check for vacuum leaks, scan the car, and most importantly report the issue back to the guys that worked on your throttle body.

Ideally, rpm is programmed to be above 1,000 on a cold start until warm up, then settles between 600-800, depending on the motor.

When you load your compressor, rpm climbs back up by 100-200 and goes back down when compressor goes off.

You will need an electrician to reset yours back to factory settings.

Honda CR-V is drive-by-wire.

P.S my little knowledge.

I'm not sure I understand much of what you've just said. However I'll give the guys that worked on the throttle body a call maybe they can figure it out since they specialize on the electrical component on cars.

Do a complete servicing of your injector fuel syetem, thorough cleaning of the throttle body both inside and outside with injector cleaner and not break oil. Lastly check for vacuum leak, if that checks out then what you need do is reprogramming idle.

Something funny just happened, got this request and the rider had to dust his shoes very well before entering my car.
It was kinda weird to me but I had to maintain, next he said my car is very neat.
According to him over neat dey worry my car, he said it very unusual to see well maintained Uber cars, I thanked him.

From our discussion I noticed he is an Igbo man.

We got to his destination at ikoyi he said it's his office and that he took one of his cars to the place I picked him and the car refused to start and he had to request for my service, before long the gate was opened I drove in and saw three exotic cars and two guys rushed towards him one looks like a bodyguard or something and the other one took his bag from him and they kept saying 'welcome Sir' several times.

The fare was #2900 and he gave me 4k. Oga thank you Sir, I will give you five star.
