I think it’s more about the initial use of the visa than subsequent uses. For you to have approached them for a visa, you must have intended to use it for something. If it had been used for that purpose, subsequent uses will matter less. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite happen like that for you. You might be able to get another visa should a need arise for you in the future. Goodluck.

But I saw them deny married pple with children that weren’t travelling with their family. So what other ties are they looking for? Lol. And all of them I heard dem ask. Your denial pained me. We are all fishing to see see why you were denied and pointing out things that might not be the reason. I personally do not see anything wrong your transcript because loads of people I know have changed travel plans and still get issued visas including this Friday. As for port of entry, CBP would have stopped you if it was an issue. Since you are obviously not desperate to travel, just stay away from there until when you really need to travel.

if you can read me well, I said gone are the days.

they want people to come and invest. doing shopping or sight seeing ain't part of those investment they want for now.. when they give you visa. it's a trial to see what your travelling could fetch into there economic

on b1/b2 visa will experience such disappointment for now. other visa type can be considered

i do not see anything wrong with these transcript,i want to assume either VO was having a bad day/mood.i know a family friend who had exactly same situation(and he was approved though he is married with kids ),dont forget that from the point visa was issued anything might come up and change your travel plans. What if an important project comes up in your work place and being part of these will not add only points to your KPI but some % to your take home. I think these whole new drive/policy is tearing everything about U.S embassy down, my best advice is to ignore going there for now. I wish we as Nigerians can take these stance.i want to agree more with the TIES thing than change of plans.

In my case I had no home ties apart from my dogs and Nephew. I own my own company, so no employer to answer to, making me a flight risk, so I could have easily been denied but I wasn't and I have gone and come home. I know some Nigerians are dubious but maybe it's time for them to start the UK method of verification, but what do I know?

They traveled twice on that visa and on the their third trip,i made them stay back. I renewed my b1/b2 ( alone) about 3 months before expiry. I have a valid visa but going on that trip scares me. I don't know what to expect at the POE considering my family already overstayed.
Even if i am able to get into the US,what are my chances of renewal coz staying back in the states is totally not an option.

I see no reason why you're worried, if leaving your family behind in U.S is wrong then you will have to face the consequences remember you made the decision, we can only look from afar.

So they were just going to stay there as illegals? How were they going to convert to permanent residency? They were going to hide forever or what? Your family’s record is clear in their system. Expect a tough POE experience. This is why they refuse indiscriminately now.

i missed an interview,cos my training date clashed and I reschedule with same visa fee. all I did was write the embassy,inform them of the development and I got MRV re-activated then I did re-appointment.i have mail correspondence as evidence.

This is a very interesting read because out of the thousands of Nigerians that get B1/B2, this is what a good deal plan to use it for. Abuse the migration system and get stay in the US.
A lot of people on NL and on this thread that have gone this route or have this intent (strongly) create a false sense of I am coming back after my visit.

Irrespective of what advice is given here, people will still go ahead and do what they have decided to do.

The route you have taken is wrong, I won't try to ask you to right it because I don't think you will.
It's not about me asking you to get banned when going to visit them. That's a CBP officers decision.
You may have created a path for your family, but note it's at the expense of others.

You will be flagged if you get to secondary inspection for any reason, and your family details will get on ICE watch list.
