Hello guys. I eventually scanned the car and got these codes.

P0170..Fuel trim bank 1
P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304....Cylinder1 to 4 misfire
P0340... Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Bank 1 or Single Sensor

I want to believe p0170 is responsible for the cylinder misfires but I welcome any suggestions.
As for the p0170, Google search revealed air filter, air filter housing, MAF sensor as likely causes. I've changed the maf and air filter. The air filter however looks good.

Any suggestions pls?

Also how do I tackle the p0340 error. What do I look out for?
Thanks in anticipation.

Just removed plugs. All dead and buried. Lol. Please who can get me platinum spark plugs suitable for 2003 w203 c200. Location is Abeokuta, Ogun state.

Hehehe you got a great sense of humour. One of the most important tools for modern cars especially the Mercedes Benz is the multimeter tester.... Simple but very critical.

Truth is if you give me a basic lexus or Toyota I'll be very confused....
1mz 2mz 2gr 4fe engines...wtf do those mean?

I feel supremely confident and comfortable with my m111 m102 m112 m113 m104 m103 m272 engines...
PLEASE RECOMMEND ME A MULTIMETER TESTER FOR A W203 2006 MB.
THANK YOU...

Don't you have an electrician already? Any electrician worth his salt must have a multimeter or a semblance of it (screw driver with a bulb attached to a wire grin grin), what exactly do you want to test? Is it battery voltage, or fuse/relay current and resistance?

If it's battery voltage, your Merc can measure it and give you live readings without the need for a multimeter

I suggest u get another maf and test it...if that doesn't work u will have to change the ECM(brainbox).

Thankx bro; this airmass is the same as air flow rytehuh?
Doesnt mb stsar scanner detect issues airflow issues?
Yes
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by syntax50: 1:37am On Jun 24, 2019

Yes
So if an mb star scanner didnt detect any airflow issues is it safe to assume the problem isnt from airflowhuh

There are standard codes for MAF sensor issues. And the multimeter tester helps you to confirm the same....

Oh really, how much does a new brain box cost and will I be able to get one that will match the car?

Actually the update is, I did a thorough cleaning of the throttle body, replaced spark plugs, changed nozzles and replaced the maf, cleaned the tps with fuel. I went back for scanning and only got cylinder misfires error code, yes the car was still misfiring occasionally, and throttle is still not revving when depressed.

Car hard starts in the morning and rpm will fluctuate for some seconds before normalizing. My mechanic says it's a fuel filter issue. Please advice.

Is it the same cylinder(s) that was misfiring b4 u did the cleaning that still misfires after the cleaning and plugs change?

lolz...it takes an experienced person to work with results from a scanner. Most times the scan doesn't give straight forward results.
Especially if multiple components are not reporting accurate readings to the ECM.
This is a topic for another day sha.

Get a fairly used maf and test....you don't need to pay for it.

Did you replace with original Bosch or Denso spark plugs? I hope you didn't use those fake NGK. Please scan that vehicle ASAP
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by shortgun(m): 7:34am On Jun 24, 2019
DreCharles:
Same cylinders, yes
If multiple cylinders check fuel pump and fuel filter.
Also check if the coils are getting electric current.

Vehicle has been scanned. Will replace with original spark plugs asap. What I want to know is will faulty fuel filter cause it not to rev when throttle is depressed. Note that, if I switch off and start again, throttle will respond

A lot of things can cause your symptoms. Post the DTC you got after scanning, a bad TPS maybe

Good luck.
Thanks.
Fuel filter has been fingered as the culprit but I'll have the fuel pump checked too as a precaution. Nozzles and maf has been changed last week when the issue just occurred.

Hard start fuel pump/filter... It can also cause misfire due to fuel starvation

You are welcome I just read that you've replaced nozzles and maf, I've modified my comment; focus your attention on the fuel pump and filter now.

Original codes

P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304....Cylinder1 to 4 misfire
P0340... Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Bank 1 or Single Sensor

Then I cleaned throttle body, change nozzle, maf, air filter

Drove fine but started getting misfires and non rev occasionally. Rescanned and got just the cylinder misfires codes

Oga Eddee, what do you think please?

Let's start with the easy one first, where have you been getting fuel lately? I hope you didn't throw away that MAF? As for the nozzles, did you buy a complete set (direct toks - shouldn't be more than 4k), I still suspect the spark plugs and coils (a multimeter will confirm this).

Stop throwing parts at it, if you dey Lagos - carry that motor track Gazzuzz (no worry, offline him dey work Mercedes, you know see that Range Rover wer him wan sell, who you think say bin dey maintain am?)

I hope these are not the spark plugs you put in that Merc?

Those are the ones. Lol

Unfortunately, not in Lagos. And yes I got complete set of nozzles and I didn't throw away the old maf and I fuel at bovas and forte fuel stations only. Although want to order for platinum spark plugs soon but since all fingers are pointing to fuel filter, I want to maybe check that out before replacing plugs
