Good morning family.
Thank God we are among the living this morning. Thank God for the breaking of the new day.
This is my message for everyone this morning;

If someone or persons tell you No to your request, do not worry. Just focus on God and trust him that He that did it for them, is able to do it for you instead of turning to sniper , the fan, the tree, the rope or third mainland bridge for a way out.

Weeping may endure for a night but Joy, I REPEAT JOY will certainly come in the morning. And all those who turned you down, all those who mocked you, will celebrate you. Hold on, soon all your turbulence will soon be like a dream and you will say aloud truly when the lord turns around the captivity of Zion, they were like them that dream.

PS. If you are depressed or suicidal, talk to me. All issues discussed will be treated confidential and with empathy.

Son Of Former Nigerian Basketball Player, Charles Antetokounmpo Wins 2019 NBA MVP award

Giannis Antetokounmpo the son of former Nigerian association football player, Charles  Antetokounmpo  beat out Paul George of Oklahoma City and James Harden of Houston, who won last year.

Antetokounmpo was a resounding winner. He received 941 points and 78 first-place votes in the balloting — 165 points more than Harden.

Harden finished second with 776 points and 23 first-place votes.

"MVP is not about stats and numbers, and obviously James Harden had unbelievable numbers and Paul George also, but obviously it’s about winning," Antetokounmpo said backstage. "We created great habits throughout the season and were able to stick by them, and that’s why we were able to have a chance in every single game we played and were able to win 60 games."

The show had an international flair, with three international players besides Antetokounmpo winning.

Antetokounmpo averaged 27.7 points and 12.5 rebounds while earning All-NBA first-team honours this season, his sixth with the Bucks. He led the franchise to the best record in the regular season and the Bucks reached the Eastern Conference finals.

Tears rolled down his cheeks as Antetokounmpo thanked his mother Veronica and brothers in the audience at Barker Hanger. He credited his late father for pushing him toward his goals and his teammates and coaching staff for their help.

"We started from nothing as a family," he said, "and we are going to be in every stage that we can be as a family."

Quote from the horses mouth

Abdul-Jabbar has spoken about the thinking that was behind his name change when he converted to Islam. He stated that he was "latching on to something that was part of my heritage, because many of the slaves who were brought here were Muslims. My family was brought to America by a French planter named Alcindor, who came here from Trinidad in the 18th century. My people were Yoruba, and their culture survived slavery... My father found out about that when I was a kid, and it gave me all I needed to know that, hey, I was somebody, even if nobody else knew about it. When I was a kid, no one would believe anything positive that you could say about black people. And that's a terrible burden on black people, because they don't have an accurate idea of their history, which has been either suppressed or distorted."

Although nearly 7 feet tall, Antetokounmpo possesses the "ball-handling skills of a point guard and the battering ram force of an old school center ,"giving rise to his nickname the " Greek Freak".

I am a fan.

So the passport officers made a mistake in speaking his name and he continued bearing that name. It is fine. I wonder what my Greek name would be.

that's how you spell adetokunbo in Greek....

90% of African Americans born in America don't really know their heritage. Where does Trinidad & Yoruba mix? Here's another quote from him "My forebears were Yoruba people, from present day Nigeria". He said he learnt this from his father and he learned from his father but there is no proof. Nigeria being the most popular and dominating demographics of Africans in the USA, it's no wonder DNA analysis and research shows basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabar and the famed Harvard historian, Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. are descendants of Yorubas but how confident are you in DNA research that shows that a person is 10 to 15% Nigerian and likely Yoruba?

BanevsJoker:

It was misspelled on his Greek passport I think. Rather than correct the name, he chose to keep it.

It wasnt misspelt, it was the direct translation of the Nigerian word 'Adetokunbo' to Greek alphabets.
