Hi everyone,

Did anyone take the computer delivery IELTS test; If yes, please can you tell me how the sections were? I am a bit skeptical with the listening section as I learnt there is no extra 10 minutes which is usually available for the paper based test to transfer answers. Any info about reading and writing experience will also be appreciated.

In btw, for CA migration purposes which is acceptable-Ielts general or academic?

True no 10 minute extra time at the end of listening section. You need to have a moderate to high skill in typing; you can simulate with ieltsonlinetest.com. It's a good way for taking the test, but be careful in your Writing as mistakes can easily be fetched in CDT than on paper.

For immigration, the General Training is the accepted test

Visit Unilag every Tuesday and Thursday

PreciousRuby:
Please do you have any contact in Unilag that can assist with processing? I have applied online and it's going to 2 months now.

My Acca certificate I want to evaluate through wes does not have my middle name unlike my bsc that has my first, middle and surname. Does it matter ? Or do I need to add an affidavit ?

Try asking ACCA to change it for you and how long it will take.

Hi guys. Well done to everyone so far for constantly making this thread active. Please can someone advise me if it is necessary to include birth certificate in one's application as I dont have one. Also where one changes address prior to making an application, do i maintain the old address since i still have access to it or do i need to state the new one? the issue with stating new one is that 1 will have to change my address on all my supporting documents such as bank statement, etc. the 3rd qstn has been answered already ie nysc can be used as part of work experience without having to state it nysc right? pls advise

You can use your current address, just make sure you state all your addresses in the last ten years. The address on my supporting document was different from my current one as it was still carrying my previous location and this did not affect my application.

So writing on paper is better for some of us that can't type fast.

IELTS: I wrote 4 times, finally made it in January 2019. I needed to max out because age is not on my side at allll

ECA: January 6, 2019. This took the whole of 6 months (July 2018-January 2019) thanks to Unilag

Alberta PNP ITA: March 5, 2019

PNP Nomination: April 8, 2019

Original ITA: April 17, 2019

AOR: April 17, 2019

MEP/BIL: May 29, 2019

BIL Submitted: May 30, 2019

1st Ghost Update: June 17, 2019

2nd Ghost Update: June 25, 2019

PPR: June 25, 2019!!!

VO: CIO Sydney Nova Scotia

AOr to PPR: 69days

What I did Differently:

As a PNP nominee, I submitted my Nomination letter and Schedule 4 form upfront.

My partner is also non-accompanying, so I submitted a signed and notarised declaration form for non-accompanying partner for each child, upfront. I wanted to save time and also avoid ADRs.

These documents were all scanned together and uploaded in the space for LOE for PA.

Greatest of all I prayed and fasted like I never did before.

God is good indeed and in all, it ended in Praise!!

These emails littered everywhere are so tiring to read. Please can we drop them on the ielts thread? It is just a subtle appeal to sanitize the thread.

Many thanks.

[quote author=chicyclass post=79054645]My PPR JOURNEY PART 2 - IELTS (a.k.a The humbler of men)

Let me start by saying that IELTS showed me shegeeeey! Again error go dey breekete for this write up wella cheesy

First attempt. 05/Jan/2019..BC
LRWS.. 7.5,,6.5,,6.5,,7

I went to this exam with all excitement that we were about to enter the process. I never envisaged what was coming, only if we can see the future.

Second attempt 09/Feb/2019.. BC.

I practised soteey, I almost finished all the listening test on YouTube.

Hia!! It came out. embarassed
LRWS.. 9,,8,,6.5,,7.5
Remark unchanged... I na-anukwa!!

At this point, i lost confidence in myself. Just like what people say "I have never failed any exam in my life". Not just that I have never failed any exam until IELTS, I have never been an average student. With the help of my husband, I dusted myself and registered for another.

Third attempt.. 27/APRIL/2019..BC

A friend advised me to register with MOD. Stubborn me! I say na the same thing everywhere. A na-emenu!

This time, i practised only writing. I reached out to Wasseynewest and joined his group, the guy is a Saint, I must say. I learnt a lot from him.
I also reached out to Johnnybravo who was very busy with other candidates at the time. He had a session with me. He said that my writing was good to fetch me 7 at least. I said to myself "IELTS na me and you for one leg trouser". I must pass, Iwu!!

Brethren!
It came out...
LRWS.. 9,,8.5,,6.5,,8
I am still awaiting the remark ni! lipsrsealed

So Sad.
Infact, I felt worthless.
I cried eeeh. When I see sample writing on IELTS, I just wondered what I did wrong. I thought i had always written what could atleast fetch me 7.
Dusted myself the 3rd time, and quickly registered for another IELTS.

Fourth attempt.. 23rd May 2019

This time I registered with MOD.
A friend chatted me up one day that he had a writing material. He said that he would share the material on one condition, that I must unlearn all the writing techniques or whatever I had learnt and study the materials to the teeth. I agreed and promised too. After all, what did the ones I learnt fetch.
Na so I read this material bumper to bumper and line by line without thinking of Jay, Liz etc.
On the test day, I must say this was
one of most stressful days of my life. I had to take all the tests same day. I came out of the exam hall downcast and unfulfilled about my writing.I was just blabbering during my speaking test. In my mind, I was planning on the next date to repeat the exam. I started practicing for writing since that day, I focused on Jay and was looking forward to 29th June to write another one because I was not giving up.

Today, I woke up early and broke down in tears cry. My husband consoled me soteey he tire. When it was 11am, I started purging and developed fever. I thought "My God, why have you forsaken me". Meanwhile, i
hadn't checked my result ooo.

At 12:20pm, Mbanu! Why am I doing this to myself ni!
Brethren!
I checked.. Lo and behold!

LRWS... 9,,8.5,,7,,7 grin

My people, I can't describe the joy. The purge stopped, the fever vanished.
Indescribable joy..WHAT A RELIEF!! I wonder what PPR will feel like. lipsrsealed

Venorite and Yemblaze, God will do it for you guys too. kiss
For all those who are still in the struggle, never give up.

The feeling eeh! Chaii!
Chukwu daalu!! To God be the glory.

I think people who have had several challenges with IELTS and/or plan to write with MOD should try to attend this and hear from the horse’s mouth as it’s organsied by FCMB with MOD (IDP.)
