3rd generation remains my best ... they spoilt the design and idea of the pathfinder from the 4th generation

the last two generations in particular the generation looks ugly compete to the third.

It have the rugged and prestige feeling of a "jeep", the newer ones seem to be competing with Infinity
Nah! cheesy The Xterra still beats the Pathfinder, in my humble opinion. I really don't know why Nissan stopped production of the Xterra. They should have just fixed the few flaws in it, and allowed it to go on with its reliable performance. undecided

The third generation is the real deal as a proper SUV and style.
I don't know why Nissan killed the shape in 2013. It would have been competing really with the likes of Lexus Gx if only they could modify the thirds generation to look better and make it more luxurious in terms of interior. But no the fourth generation started on like its designed to compete with space bus segment. Looks more like sienna and oddysee.

True that and spot on.
2 gallons of whatever fluid you drink when chilling. cool

The 4th and 5th gen releases/refreshes have an SUV rather than that 'jeep' look to them.

My dad once had the 1996 model, rocked it for 12 years though it developed gear problem after the eleventh year and wouldn't go past gear two, it was still usable. Even after 12 years the ride still looked good and neat in and out.
He finally gave it out two years ago and I swear I still miss it, the 4th generation onwards looks ugly IMHO.

No sir. The X-trail is a totally different model, under the Nissan brand.

The Nissan X-Trail is a compact crossover SUV produced by Nissan, since 2000. The Xterra however is a front-engine, 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive, truck-based SUV, manufactured and marketed by Nissan Motors from 1999–2015.

Both are very different models.

How can it be competing against itself?

Nissan is Infinity; Infinity is Nissan.

How can the 4th generation have a better front grille look than the 5th.

I thought their titan would be able to compete with tundra but it couldn't

Amongst Japanese brands,
Toyota comes first then Nissan, Honda could have been second but they are seriously losing their market shares
leave them, they think making a robust and cute dashboard is gonna take consumers eyes off the problems the bulljoints and engine overheating issues, not to mention their gear issues. Toyota is really doing a gr8t job tho

Re: The History And Evolution Of The Nissan Pathfinder by computerglobal(m): 1:53pm On Jun 26, 2019

Be Cautious and obtain a detailed vehicle history report from computerglobal which can many hidden problems from a vehicle’s past, including flood titles, recalls and more, and also will indicate if a vehicle has been registered in at-risk areas during flood and hurricane seasons.
Consumers could end up saving a great deal of time and money in repairing damages that were unbeknownst to them with they made the purchase.

True! The 3rd generation which started with the 2005 model had issues, but the 2009- 2014 models were rather cool. It seems like the flaws in the earlier models had been fixed, in them. wink
