Sequel to the thread "Are you sure you are the owner of your mind?",

I wish to state practical ways to remain victorious over sin and to overcome demonic control.

It is practical because I write with my personal example and personal life with God.

I simply state how God has helped me.

The discussion will be under the following headings:

1. The Nature of Man.

2. The Power of Sin

3. Victory over sin

4. Victory over demonic control.

1. Man was created as the image of God ...but he was banished from God's presence the moment he disobeyed.

Subsequently, the spirit of man was disconnected from God's presence.

Three forces can work against a man after man's fall.

God, Satan and Man's Fallen Flesh.

Flesh as used here signifies your body..or by extension, your senses.....touch, sight and hearing.

A natural man or a man in his normal state are controlled by these senses. We believe what we see, we feel what we touch and we process what we hear.

Normally, without any intrusion by any demon, man will always act in this state.

These senses give birth to who a natural man is. The senses give birth to a man's Will, intellect and emotion.

What a man hears gather up and affect His will, intellect and emotions. This will, intellect and emotions are what constitute man or the soul of the main.

The eye, or the sense of seeing is the window to the soul.

2. The Power of Sin.

Sin has two strongholds.

a. It appeals to man's fallen flesh and,

b. It can be influenced by demons who feed by sin.

Many try to live right by setting numerous laws of dos and donts, some try to punish the flesh in a way...especially through some religious means.

This is the truth:

SIN CAN NEVER BE SUBDUED IF THE NATURE OF MAN IS NOT CHANGED.

Without Changing the nature of man, any method used to live right is like treating the symptoms and not dealing with the cause.

Don't forget that sin has two strongholds as mentioned earlier... The man's flesh and the demons.

Naturally, man wants to be free, have fun and enjoy life.

Sex is built into man's body system. Hormones rage whenever this is not satisfied. (One stronghold of sin, which is man's fallen flesh)

If I am offended, I want to retaliate. Its natural.

If i don't feel loved, I cannot love anyone. Its natural.

I want to be on top of others. If possible my boss who has been in service years before I join. It is natural....I.am naturally selfish.

I have the urge to protect my territory. Either through anger or otherwise. This is natural.


All this natural attributes of man are strongholds of sin.

Unfortunately, all these attributes are against God's commandments.

This is why it is impossible to please God in this state of mind.

We have discussed one stronghold of sin which is the flesh of man or his senses.

Demons aid sin. Let's look at this.

Demons are like zombies. They are in agony when outside human body. They fell better inside of man.

Without sin, they cannot have access into your body. Sin breaks the edge and protection that a human soul has.

In my previous thread, I have dealt with how they suggest sin from afar and gain control after one has yielded. I will not deal with this here.

So, having known your natural disposition as a man, demons fuel these dispositions so as to have access into you...


Naturally, you respond to sex. But they can fuel it.

This is the power of sin; it is natural to man and it is fueled by demons.

3. Victory Over Sin.

There is no victory over sin until:

1. Man's natural state is changed.

2. The Spirit of Holiness Posses the man.

3. Man makes conscious effort to "keep the body under "

These will be explained shortly.

1. To change man's natural state means to kill his natural state. That's why the Bible says....Except a man is Born again. He cannot enter God's kingdom.

You can not do what pleases God in this natural state.

God has decided not to manage this natural state of man. He has decided to kill it and reborn another "man"

That's been born again.

The soul is reborn.


Listen,

Nothing or no one can do this except Jesus.


This is what happens when you accept him as your Lord and saviour.

He kills your natural man. Your natural soul.

2. After killing this natural state of man, God then puts his spirit within you.

This spirit is his holy spirit. He teaches and guides you.

This prevents any other spirit from influencing your mind from a distance or possesing you.

No man is empty. One demon or many reside in man.

Now that you have the holy spirit, you are not empty. You are therefore free from possession by demons. They can only suggest from afar.

Don't also forget that the holy spirit is a spirit of burning. He burns off all dross in your soul as you yield to him.

Having the holy spirit in you,


You consciously continue to keep the body under.

You must take this stand permanently for the rest of your life.

Remember that the new man, which is the new soul, still lives in this body that is govern by senses.


You feed your new man with the word of God and believe what he says.....you are then empowered to act the way God wants.

Your will in subject to that of the spirit of God.

Your emotions are subject to what the word says.

Then, the body dies slowly as you ALWAYS disobey his natural yearnings to obey God.

You always disobey the fleshy suggestions and demonic instructions because you have decided to do just that....though you are now aided by the spirit in you.


This is victory over sin and demons.

Daily, you disobey the urge to hate, remembering what God said about hatred.....the spirit of God brings this to your remembrance.....later in life as you grow,

The urge to hate dies a natural death.

The same happens to lust, anger, etc.


They die over time.


It takes a while....Just continue with it.

If you fall, rise again and ask for help. Truth be told, you will fall once in a while....

Later, you won't fall again.

When the holy spirit tells you to read your Bible instead of watch movies,

It hurts you at first....giving up fun for spiritual matters hurt at the start.

Just obey. Feed your soul and energize him. You will be better for it.

You are told by the spirit to greet that neighbor who answers you with reluctance....

It will prick your heart at first... " am I a fool?"

"she will think I am weak"

I remember this and it helps...." We are fools for Christ sake"

Reject this, no matter how painful... Greet anyways and remove hatred.

Don't forget that you are not alone. You have help from within. When it is too difficult, ask for help from that spirit in you.

I used to like Nigerian music because of the beat.....

Holy spirit asked me to stop listening to them because of the lyrics and videos (remember your senses of touch, hearing and seeing)

It was extremely painful.... But I asked for help. Now, for years now, I don't listen to them and I am fine.

It is easier now.

Remember, these are all practical. Everything written here is bases on how I came out of sin.

It is practical.

If I remember a particular word of God, I will obey instructions from the spirit within easily.

Let me give you an example.

If an immoral thought comes from a distance,

I remember that "Greater is he that is me...than the devil in the world."

For the greater one to remain, I must not allow this thought.

I am motivated to block it off, by the spirit ....and it is done.

If I am angry about someone, I just remember that I am nothing before a great God. Six feet await me....if I am nothing compared to God,

Then I should let go. Who am I?

Nobody.

This helps me to calm down and forgive.


Atimes, I remember "you are a servant of whom you choose to obey''

Read the word my brother. Else, there is nothing to remember and motivate you from within to say No.

After the soul is reborn, the spirit yields more easily to God because there is a connector between the spirit of man and God,

Everyday of your life, you must continue to say No and act in accordance to God's word.

If you fall, remember you have an advocate. Jesus the righteous. In him, you are complete.

After the fall, rise again and pick up from where you stumbled.

Be careful with what you see, hear or touch. You now live a live of sanctity before God, you cannot afford to be careless.

Jesus said you should take his yoke upon you. He said it is light.

Don't forget that it is still a yoke. God will give you the grace daily for the rest of your lives...

So, this is your cross;

No nude pictures, sexual songs and dance, sexual movie sins,

Keeping bad friends, being careless around opposite sex,..alcohol, parties and ungodly jokes...and anything that can expose you.

As you separate yourself from the world,..you gain complete freedom from sin and demons.

You will be free and remain free.

Avoid triggers.

Remember that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy.

This alone is a good motivation.

Then the soul of the man that has been subject to his flesh begins to yield to the desires of the new spirit as influenced by the indwelling Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God Himself who reveals more about Christ through His Word to the spirit of man.
The Holy Spirit doesn't regenerate the soul of man but can transform the soul as the soul yields to the prompting of the new spirit regularly. The soul(mind, will and emotions) can't host the Holy Spirit but can be influenced through the spirit (fellowship, intuition and conscience).

Thanx for this great piece. You said the holy spirit told you to stop certain things, eg listening to some kinds of songs. I want to ask, what happens in a situation where the holy spirit does not warn a born again about listening to such songs? Does it mean the person is committing sin by listening to them?

Holy Spirit warned me against watching some movies, fornication, etc, but has not warned me about music. I still listen to these kinds of songs, they sound good, and kill boredom, so? Am I still in bondage?

Music is a Chanel that the devil is using to corrupt people's mind and make them prone .....clean music and videos do not trend....the devil has done just that.

Jesus said that no one enters the kingdom of God EXCEPT he is born again.

In that verse above, it is the souls that are in heaven. They couldn't have entered that holy place except they are born again.

The Souls in there are born again. Or reborn.

In Busola words "the house was so big that the person up could barely hear the one down" and probably that's why she didn't bother to shout for her older sister to come for her rescue... Now my question is; How did she hear his knock from up and then came down to open up for him? Okay after that, you waited there for a man that just raped you not just ordinary rape oo, the one that removed the seal forcefully to go to his car and bring Krest to you to drink and thereafter told you "We'll see later.... Haba, please let Busola rearrange the story... Until this man proven guilty. I can believe.

I thank God for what's going on in the body of Christ now. It will make the church powerful bc christians will for the sake social media publicity remove themselves from sexual sin and concentrate on spiritual development & progress. Las las the kngdom of darkness will suffer it bc of the glory that will follow our temporary defeat.

If they had known of this glory( that will follow) they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.
