The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has warned governors in the south-west region against providing land for herdsmen to breed cattle, Igbere TV reports.


Adams on Thursday at the South West Security Summit held in Ibadan, Oyo State, called the governors by their names and asked them to be proactive about the issue.


The monarch rebuked the governors for ignoring his letters and calls to take proactive steps on the matter.


“Nobody can take Yoruba land or constitute nuisance in south-west because Yoruba have been living peacefully for the past 120 years, so the incursion of criminally-minded people will no longer be accepted.


“History will not forgive any south-west governor that gives land to herdsmen for the breeding of their cattle because the issue of insecurity is now overwhelming.


“We are not only talking about south-west alone, we are talking about everywhere Yoruba live, including Kogi and Kwara states. All hands must be on deck to curb insecurity because the progress of Yoruba land should be a collective effort of all of us,” Adams said.

These Governors dont understand what Aare is talking about. The set of Governors that will understand this message are dead and gone.

We in SW need a 50yr vision on renewing the Yorubaland contract.

In the time of our ancestors we alternated kings using characteristics. We enthrone a brutal and ambitious king because we expect him to protect the land fiercely against enemies. His brutality will be visited on his subjects from time to time but he is restrained by the fear of deposition so he behaves within limits internally with his subjects but acts with impunity externally facing others. After this king passes he is followed with a kind and amiable king. We do not want to completely isolate enemies and so the enemy we punished in the reign of last king, its time to ally with them under a new reign. Also, the hardship endured in the domain under last king, we need to soften the land with prosperity and plenty under new king. This is what Yoruba of old did.

We moved away from kingship to democracy....now we are ruled by western ideologies and demands our governors to be highly educated. So far we have abandoned our old tradition of nominating kings with predator instincts. Our governors are academic, they were not taught in sxhools how to be a predator, basically they are instructed that an educated person does not engage in fight, must allow others to enjoy the same thing he enjoys (liberalism). Western education instills in them prey instincts....how to sit in one spot and become food to others.

Yoruba must renew our contracts to the land and begin thinking of re-instituting the traditions of old and the acts of enthroning, or electing, governors with predator instincts.

All the Ibos killed are not a cause for concern? Ibo lives doesn't worth as much as Yoruba lives I guess because I don't see any reason why you are here lamenting about insecurity in Yorubaland while your own land is currently being ravaged.

Kidnapping and fulanisation are two different crimes. Kidnapping is done by criminals and its not political, whereas fulanisation has a political agenda undertone, kidnapping done by fulanis are done either out of instructions given to them or by instructions given to them. The lands they want acquire, are they theirs? Do they have their country? If they do, do they still have their states of origin, local governments and of course, villages and bushes, do they have all of these? Or maybe, they fell from the sky. If all their demands are given to them now, would they stop to victimize their host or stop them from making fresh demands? Their hand writing is clear and understandable , otherwise I would've ask you to read meaning to their trends .
