SocialJustice: I've dropped the link so you guys can join the waiting list. Now to answer your question. The jobs in question are NOT your regular "freelance" work where you bid for tasks or get tasks done and get paid some measly $20. I am talking about full time OR part-time positions with real companies and you work remotely. You get paid a salary monthly or weekly, or as the case may be. SEE EXAMPLE: ===================================================================== Participatory Culture Foundation (PCF) is seeking a full time product manager for our flagship software product. Our ideal candidate is analytical with a strong background in data-driven decision making and has a desire to make the world a better place! The above is the kind of jobs you'll see in our pipelines. And the remote working thing is just ONE of the pipelines. I'm not supposed to do this, but I think it's better to let you understand what my website is set to offer. The job offer posted above is currently available. I cannot post the "apply" link here. I nor wan chop ban Anymore questions? 1 Like |

Good morning folks. Update coming up shortly. |
Re: Starting A New Internet Business - My Journey So Far. by databoy247(m): 5:14pm On Jun 01, 2019 |
Setting up social media accounts isn't easy. Been working on it for the past 2 days. I have decided to use Buffer as my social media management tool. It is a great tool. In fact, I have scheduled posts for the whole of next week. The social media accounts get daily updates while I face other tasks. But I am leaning towards adding social media marketers to my team. Each to manage a particular account. They get their monthly targets which they must meet. The next phase of my online business set up is marketing. The online buzz is working! People are seriously making inquiries, waiting for the launch date, and some already have their subscription fee ready Lol. Today, I am going to let the cat out of the bag. I'll let you know what the online platform is FULLY all about, and the website link. PROBLEM STATEMENT (simple terms) Via my first platform, PROCV Nigeria, I have interacted with hundreds of professionals who are highly qualified and most of them still find it difficult to get good paying jobs. I have also interected with lots of contractors (if you remember my contractors thread a few years back), and I also noticed they have issues laying their hands on contracts. Finally, its the dream of over 70% of Nigerians to travel abroad - not just to travel, but to get a good job. SOLUTIONS The new platform I have built to address these issues is called Liner. Liner operates as a restricted platform with multiple information pipelines. As a member, you get access the following information; 1. Verified and validated remote work opportunities. Not the normal freelance gigs you know, but legit full-time/part-time employment offers. You get employed remotely by top companies globally and you get paid a monthly, weekly, or bi-weekly salary. Most of these companies pays upwards of $10,000 annually (over N3million) 2. Confirmed contract opportunities from all industries across every region in Nigeria. You can submit your bids and quotations directly. If you are persistent, you'll land yourself a multimillion naira contract. 3. You gain direct access to travel-and-work abroad offers mostly from countries in Asia and Europe. They might demand a few certifications which you can acquire online. Most of the travel are all expense paid. METHODS I currently have two teams. The diggers and validators. They are not paid monthly salaries but they are paid a figure per amount of work done. Diggers get these opportunities ( I am also a digger), while validators reside in some of these countries and they help with validating the legitimacy of these opportunities. REVENUE MODEL: The online business will generate revenue via a recurring membership subscription sold annually of N5,500. This will help in footing the platform bills - website management, marketing, diggers & validators, etc. A few individuals have already purchased their membership subscriptions in our ongoing beta users testing, they have given the "hi 5" already. Hopefully, by tomorrow, I'll shed more light on my marketing strategy and also reveal the date of the website launch. NB: This is not a full-fledged startup company. It's just a simple online business I am setting up to offer solutions to a set of problems, while I make money form membership subscriptions. Normally, I would have just set up the whole thing in two weeks or there about and start advertising everywhere. But I am taking the pains to drop my strategy and set up process here so as to teach a few persons how to set up an online business. Attached are; - Screenshot of testimonials from the Liner website - Screenshot of my awaiting list using MailChimp. It has gotten 600+ individuals interested already! - Others. 1 Like

Ok, as per the social media buzz, I've recorded 2 posts on LinkedIn going viral with a combined 6,000+ views in 2 days. We all know getting 500 views on your post on LinkedIn is extremely difficult. Except you are an influencer. Waiting list is now 600+. My Buffer social media manager app is doing a GREAT work. All social media accounts are getting daily updates automatically. So far so good, N10,000 gone from my budget of N50k. Attached is a screenshot of comments on one of the LinkedIn buzz posts.

The best internet business is information marketing where you sell what you know. In my own opinion, blogging is the better option to market and sell what you know i know poultry business and have been blogging about it for years My poultry blog is among the Top 50 in the world, listed by Google and my market is Nairaland. I advise Nigerians going for internet business to have something to sell, sell via blogging and do the marketing via Nairaland. 5 Likes |

Update: My posts on LinkedIn are continuing to maintain it's viral trajectory. Interesting. Over 10,000 views and counting. Also, I've gotten over 1,000 people join the waiting list. It seems I might hit my target 200 users in less than half my projected timeframe (6 months). This thread might end soonest after I drop my marketing strategy. |

I want to thank all those who have followed this thread. It's been an exciting experience. The objective is to set up an online business and lay down the process for everyone to see. You know, my definition of an online business is not affiliate marketing, or one of those joker's (pardon me, it's my opinion). To build a profitable online business, you need to get a good idea that's validated, structure your implementation plan, get a good marketing strategy (free or paid) and get to work. My stats: My target was to set up a simple online business with a budget of N50k, a membership website with paid subscription as revenue model, and hope to acquire 200 paid users by the end of December - 6 months. I started this process less than 2 weeks ago and I have achieved the following; - website completed and available to the public - I used a pre-launch marketing strategy which required a waiting list and an online buzz. - The buzz I did on social media was more effective on LinkedIn as 2 or 3 posts went viral raking in a combined 25,000+ views and hundreds of comments. One of the posts is attached. - Over 1,000 people joined the waiting list. - The site was opened by 9am this morning - less than 4 hours after launching, I got over 40 new registrations with almost half of them becoming paid subscribers. - I receive over 10 new registrations every hour. And it's still counting. So, in all. It's been a smooth ride. Ciao. 1 Like

I think that I didn’t understood well your business model the way it is presented in this thread. So, you are selling membership for your website, but I still dong understand well why would people pay for that membership. What are your expectations about number of members and your yearly earnings? |
Re: Starting A New Internet Business - My Journey So Far. by databoy247(m): 6:02am On Jun 23, 2019 |
Watkinss: The bolded is really funny. Ask Glo or MTN why people pay for their data. Dem for give you data for free bah? People pay for membership because: - We need money to maintain the website - We need money so we can pay those working behind the scene. Abi people wey dey maintain website nor go chop food? - And finally, I as the owner need to earn some revenue. Its a business and not charity work. As for your last question, my expectation is a minimum of 200 new members annually and earning a projected revenue of over N1million. In return, the members gain access to premium information (for a whole year) on how they can earn thousands of dollars working from home. Everybody wins! |

Hallenjay:I was going to say the same thing... @databoy247, don’t you think it’ll be nice to highlight the skills and qualifications required of prospective applicants, to enable them make informed decision on what they’ll be paying for. All in all, this thread is highly informative...kudos |

databoy247:I have read several times, I really want to pay to join but after paying, I still have to apply for jobs until I get one and I'm sure your website is not the only place the jobs are being advertised, so others still have access to bid the jobs even if they are not in Nigeria. After paying money, the whole thing still looks like Upwork to me as I do my job search. |
