please my Toyota camry 2007 is emitting blue smoke now, I bought it as tokunbo and it was working well since march. though the car still move well and no abnormal noise coming from it. but the blue smoke is really given me concern. kindly suggest how to go about solving it.

Open a dedicated savings account and start saving money for a new engine.

Blue smoke is usually associated with engine oil burning in the cylinder. And this could be caused by quite a number of things.
1. Find a competent mechanic
2. Run a deep scan. If it is electrical related you can isolate it. If not den u can focus on mechanical faults.
3. Don't throw parts at the problem.


OP pls confirm have you been experiencing oil shortage recently?
I believe that engine series are known to consume alot of oil. If Thats d 2AZ engine sha.

1.What's the mileage on that "babe" pls?
2. What sort of engine oil do you used for oil change?
3. What has being done on the car, after observing this?

Few solutions here:
1. Check to see if your car's PCV(positive crankcase ventilation) hose/valve is functional.
If its bad, excessive engine goes straight into the combustion chambers, and burns.

2. You might be having a BLOWBY, via the piston ring oil rings.
Worn out piston rings would cause this phenomenon.
Solution: Replace engine if you're financially buoyant, or rebuild the engine.

Suggestion:

1. Get the car serviced with mobile super 1000 engine oil (N5k) and change the filter (N1k)
2. If it continue then ring it or buy half engine(200k) instead of buying full engine.

2AZ half engine is not 200k, that is converted 1AZ... you will get direct 2AZ borale(half engine) for nothing less than 240k

Just get another engine , unkazeemised all kazeemed systems in your car , adhere to a good maintenance practice and move on .
