Northerners have looted Nigeria more than other regions – Fani-Kayode replies El-Rufai

Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation minister, has asserted that Northerners have looted Nigeria more than any other region.

He said this in response to the claim by Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State, that Northerners are rarely arrested for advance fee fraud, popularly known in local parlance as Yahoo Yahoo.

Speaking at the Northern Youth summit organized by Northern Hibiscus Initiative in Kaduna on Saturday, El-Rufai said although North was the most backward and uneducated region in Nigeria, it was a thing of pride that Northerners are rarely arrested for Yahoo Yahoo and other financial crimes.

El-Rufai had said: “Nigeria consists of two countries; there is a backward, less educated and unhealthy northern Nigeria, and a developing, largely educated and healthy southern Nigeria. We have to speak the truth to ourselves and ask why is it that northern Nigeria has development indicators similar to Afghanistan, a country..

I used to think that there are two classes of Northerners, the mindless looters in power and the pious poor masses. Yahoo yahoo didnt seem to be their forte, maybe because of intellectual challenge, but kidnapping is. They were slow to copy the kidnappings in the Niger Delta. When they did, it was attended to with illiterate brutality. It was no longer expatriate-targeted but even poor masses in commuter vehicles became victims. The North will come to yahoo yahoo. Its only a matter of time. That one required more brain than they parade. They need harder work

If the Northern leaders DID NOT LOOT and there is little infrastructural and human capital developments in the NorthernNigeria, the question is where have all the trillions budgeted over the years gone to? Indeed, Northern leaders including ostentatious Royal Fathers have looted like mad for their comfort and to empower their children to maintain the looting and comfort in the years to come. Allah will give all you and your spoilt children the justice you all deserve. I am not sure but the ongoing violent banditry looks like a TINY part of the justice package.

Maybe El-Rufai was sleeping when he said no northerner has been convicted of fraud/419. Ganduje, Dansuki, Abacha, Babachir Lawal; are they from Yorubaland or Igboland? El-Rufai, watch your mouth.

Can't argue with FFK on this because collectively nobody has stolen Nigeria's money more than the Northern elites. They just use religion to deceive their poor population. Na Northern elites steal pass, yet they keep their masses in abject poverty and control them with religious fanaticism.
