It sounds credible but from what I gathered from someone's past experience. The total recruitment in itself takes patience and true dedication.. I mean *8months of patience although this was some years ago.

What I would suggest is go about your business normally and prepare as best you can.

That is indeed serious. If you really think about it 8 months is not at all that far. It's just the suspense that gets to one.

4 yrs recruitment should automatically convert you supervisory role with good renumeration.

Are we sure they will send reject mails? because I know ExxonMobil for example doesn't send reject mails till selected candidates have resumed.
