The joker is a comic book character, he has to look like one. Todd Philips meant the plot wouldn't follow any comics that was written.


None of the trailer showed him having chemical poured on his face.


The movie states that Arkham is a government facility not privately owned as in the comics.


Where did you see this in the trailer, the only time people protested was at the Wayne's hall when joker was pushed giving a nod to the movies joker is heavily borrowing from(Modern times and The king of comedy)

This one I am not too sure of.

i just can't believe it. It would hurt me if Sunderland was plain bad. Remember that epis0de where dr. W0odrue visited and Avery was pissed that the chemicals they were dumping in the swamp was making people sick instead of creating m0re land and fast growing trees? He cares abt the town bt cares m0re abt his ego. He thinks himself a genius here to save mankind n0t kn0wing he's the villain. The old man doesn't want to be bad. He's just bad cos of his ego and desperati0n. Avery portrays the average human being. And i can see myself in Avery's shoes that's the beauty of it. He doesn't want to destroy or kill people, he has to becos he must save himself and build a reputati0n. Isn't that what we humans are all about? We go to wars, destroy the planet n0t cos we want to but cos we must, to save ourselves fr0m the so called bad guys. We fail to see how we ourselves are a threat.

1. The clown makeup is from the comics.
2. Water (chemical) pouring on his face is from alan Moore killing face
3. Arkham asylum is from the comics
4. Thomas wayne having an accident and some people going against him is from the comics(scott Snyder run and batman year one.)
5. Joker writing a diary is from the comics.
