1998 Nigeria won Atlanta Olympics.
A doctor friend of mine went on a Final interview for a position in a hospital a few days later.
He and the other 2 Finalist were all equally qualified for the position.
It so happened the Final Decision to be made by the Italian doctor who loved football and followed Nigeria's victory talked football with my friend who played and was also knowledgeable.
As a result he got the position. FYI He has risen up to a big position in same hospital.

Because of the same Nigeria victory a few babies were named Kanu in Brazil and the self esteem of Black Brazilians increased.

I have a lot more stories.

In summary it is better we win anything we get involved in or give our very best even with a loss than outright lose.
Nigeria won Atlanta 1996 ,not 1998 sir...1998 Was world cup..FRANCE 98 won by France ,,defeating Brazil with 3goals in the final..

please no matter what the outcome will be, make sure you don't include Mikel obi on that field, maybe by the side would be better.
Exactly. Mikel should not be included.

Super chickens. This team has to be the weakest eagles team I have ever seen, since I started watching super eagles play from 1990.
Actually, it is the weakest.

yea go supersports page on facebook they are all there mocking us about our keeper saying he makes a lot of mistakes,
U know he plays in their league
Really?

Damn, how low have we fallen? Imagine South Africans mocking us. I hope we thrash them to teach them a lesson. If not for refereeing errors, the scoreline in our last match against them would have been 3-1 to Nigeria.

The boys have to rise to the occasion and put these Banana Banana in their place once and for all.

But can our boys do it? We would have to wait till tonight.

I understand perfectly well. This team is the weakest Nigerian AFCON squad since I have been watching the AFCON.

We don't even have a dependable goalkeeper, or a playmaker or a defensive midfielder in the mould of Sunday Oliseh. I was surprised (but happy) that we could score goals when we got 3 past defending champions, Cameroon. Even Benin has a more dependable goalkeeper and a more compact team.

okay good...but I will agree to your point only from the angle of dependable keeper and not playmaker or defensive midfielder..Alex is not much of a playmaker but he is far better than Haruna of 2010 and Ramon azeez of 2014..Ndidi aside oliseh is the best proactive defensive midfielder we ever had...he is better than Dickson etuhu,,,sani keita, endless list...

OK. Now, I agree the team is not the worst. I used to think it was.

Hopefully, they beat South Africa today.
