It's a new feature in QA. Absolutely a great features for beginners like us. It helps you rework on your previous failed jobs. So just screen grab the rating note as well as the previous job. So you can actually do better and saves you time on a new work.

Yes you can be self employed anywhere you are in the country transcribing for a living.

This thread will teach you everything you need to know to start up and the tools needed to deliver the goods.

You would need

1. A PC, tab or mobile phone
2. Affordable internet connection
3. Good head phones
4 Good command of English

Everything else can be learned on this thread. For those of us who have already started transcribing, we're welcome to share our ideas here so that this can be our online community.

To avoid this thread being banned, kindly let us adhere to all the rules of Nairaland.

Should we want to share screenshots, kindly let's block the company and important call info.

E.g
Rep: I was gonna, uhmmm, I was gonna tell ya about, about the new product we launched.
What they need: I was going to tell you about the new product we launched.

Punctuation: Hello, Philip. It's Emily calling from CLH Group. How're you doing today?
Cust: I'm fine, thank you. And how are you?

Longer calls will be more complex in terms of punctuation but for a start
A comma before and after a name in mid sentence. A comma before or after a name in salutation.
You're also allowed MINOR corrections for making clear transcripts.
Anyway, read through the FAQ and regularly Consult it while working at least till you acquaint yourself with it's detail

Scribesbay is more on writing, not really transcription.

Have you tried Transcribeme?

Alot of these other names are just too strict, sometimes i feel they are rejecting jobs on purpose.
Transcribeme too has a cumbersome onboarding process. Will try them again if I see that their pay is better

That's the problem with other transcription companies that recruit globally - lack of jobs. QA still has the most jobs. Since I joined, I have never for once lacked a job and their rules are not as strict as others, well, at least the other one I tried. Scribie has rejected my work twice now and the folks speaking were even Ghanian so I could hear them well. When the corrections came in, I saw that they were wrong. It would have dented my self esteem had it not been that i've had nine 5's in my last ten jobs at QA. I'm still looking out for a better company as Rev dey do their own company like say na kingdom of heaven. What's Scribebay's payment like

Rev shaa... Top class!

Am considering TM at the moment. Their English Style and Exam manual is a coursework on its own. Everything is explained in detail. Very helpful too, considering, I've been searching for materials to help improve my transcription skills.

Wot does Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company have to do with transcription, Qaworld and the $4 u made last night?

I agree with you on rejecting jobs on purpose. That is why I really cherish Qaworld for being lenient.

Yeah. Really lenient.
And this new feature they added, SPECTACULAR! Offering every Transcriptionist an opportunity to redo their previously submitted jobs with poor ratings.

Waywithwords is like JAMB when applying. their test is about 10 stages. Yet to get pass 8. 2 accounts gone, once you fail a stage, you can't move ahead again. so you must set up a new account. I believe after the test, the main job won't be that difficult.

TM na yeye people dem be.
