Hello friends,

I am a PG (MSc) student. All my results has been released and all course requirements has been met. Please assist me with response to the questions below;
1. My research project JlS 816 was not uploaded, although am yet to go for MODERATION. Please hope it would still be uploaded as soon as I am done with moderation.
2. Since am done with all my courses, how do I know that am due for graduation? Will there be an indication on my dashboard?

Regards.

Enskynelson:

It is minimum of 34 TCE required for graduation and not 30.
Secondly, you don't have to pay 18k semester registration fees as you no longer have any course to register for this semester. The defense is for a course already registered earlier. Success!
I think it's 30. Check the sch requirement for the course. It is boldly written there. www.nouedu.net

Thank God for my results but I noticed that some of my grades got D before automatically changed to E grade.
Is it the new grading that is affecting the previous grade ?

You were supposed to take the soft copy of your project to your study Centre for upload. This has closed for the current batch. I hope you did so otherwise, no going for defense.

Portal Access Schedule

Mondays: Faculty of Agric & Faculty of Social Sciences

Tuesdays: Faculty of Arts & Faculty of Management Sciences

Wednesdays: Faculty of Education & Faculty of Health Sciences

Thursdays: Faculty of Law & Faculty of Sciences

Fri, Sat, Sun: All Faculties

IMPLICATIONS:
With the above schedule of access to portal by students, students should also note the following:

(1) that there's only ONE Monday during the period for TMA 1 kiss

This simply means, you have ONE server free day and THREE (Fri, Sat, Sun) days of possible portal congestion.

(2) that there're only THREE Mondays during TMA 2

(3) that there're FOUR Mondays during TMA 3

Note: the above timelines may be altered by the management if deemed necessary. However, kindly prepare to overcome - FORGET ABOUT SLEEPING FOR THOSE DAYS.

I submitted on Monday 7th, but the admin told me it was already late to schedule me for the current batch.

What's your view on this?

Yes, deadline was 3rd July officially. You can still submit on a later date but it means your project result will not come with this 2019/1 results. And no need to bother for defense coming up later this month.

Due to portal/server inconsistencies, the school management has decided to schedule Access to portal.

Portal Access Schedule:

1. Mondays: Faculty of Agric & Faculty of Social Sciences
2. Tuesdays: Faculty of Arts & Faculty of Management Sciences
3. Wednesdays: Faculty of Education & Faculty of Health Sciences
4. Thursdays: Faculty of Law & Faculty of Sciences
5.Fri, Sat, Sun: All Faculties

Now let me try and explain this, and why they did this.
If you remember similar thing was done two semester ago. You should understand that NOUN site is built with #PHP, a programming language that works on the server and all students' data are being stored in a relational database(MySQL).

Understand that NOUN is the largest university in Nigeria. It has 72 study centres across the states. Have u ever wondered why the portal is always having issues? It is because to many requests are being made simultaneously. I don't think is the fault of the programmers or something. It is just the technology being used that is the problem, the application(site) has much users so it deemed to crash.

The new access schedule method that they have brought is the best. I believe that they are still figuring out something.

Why not opt for a better one than this? Is this how other sites crashes?

It was not supposed to be written down but rather printed out. However, you should go back there to the person who earlier issued you the matriculation number and she will check again for the right now.
