What about some of us that helped and got burnt in the process, human beings are predictable, for me it's every man for himself.
When you help and don't anticipate payback from the beneficiary, you are not likely going to be burnt in the process.

I remember... I remember...

Truth is everyone has a story. Even those that refused to help you also have their "I remember.." story. And those you refused to help whether voluntarily or unknowingly, also have their "I remember.." story against you. Some Nigerian youths have "I remember..." stories against even the big men like Dangote who turned down their applications.

I nor dey write or read this kinda stories. Give and leave it at that. What you remember doesn't matter. Most important thing is progress.

if you want to know people who give just as a means of publicity stunt, go check it out you will hear how much was given or what was giving but this young man didn't do any of sort, his story was purpose , stop criticizing without putting the word REASON and besides even if they do talk about what they have given out as long as they give the fact is someone's life has been changed and that's the most important , to all the politicians, celebrities, business moguls, everyday person giving out be it from your heart or not I say thank you.

you have changed lives and those lives will change more that's the goal of giving.

I myself am here because a total stranger picked a kid who could have been in the farms with kids by now in an unknown village and decided to call me his own.

Almost every Nigerian has encountered such people in the past..

So why bringing it online....for people to praise you or what..

As for the OP that posted this and the mode that brought it to front page I'm waiting for you both to come down
You are just a dimwit.

The guy noted at the end of his post that he is not trying to show off but pass his message.

Since you have a damaged conscience, I believe the only type of story that thrills you is how Davido brags about buying a private jet, when it offers no benefit to you and other private Nigerians.

Truy people are suffering. Some people only need like 10k to start a business and live better if u ask them. But at the same time, while giving one should be prayerful as you never can tell. It's a wicked world. Some would collect from u just to take to native doctors. Also some people are just scammers. They tell all sorts of lies to get from from u. Reason most of the time it's better to give to people who least expect from u n give to people who are sincere about their needs. God gives and so we should learn to give. When I see people suffering atimes I wish i could help all of them out of their situation. May God help us.

My brother that help you rendered will go a long way in your life but you might not notice it now.

Giving to the needy is the most thing I cherish in my life

This reminds me of someone that had almost the same case with the guy you helped. That was when I was working with Dangote transport in lokoja. In his own case, he had serious malaria and the month has gone far but no salary yet. He has already bought some malaria drugs but no money to buy food and eat before taking the drugs.
He came to the canteen to ask the food vendor for credit so that he will be able to take his drugs but the woman complained that so many workers are owing her and she cannot afford to him on credit. He was so disappointed and weak from his look.

When I looked at this guy, he looked so sick and weak and I checked my pocket, I had only 600 hundred naira which I was managing to take me for another one week before salary. I called him and told him that I will buy you food but please you will eat without meat and he gladly accepted. I paid for his food and I left to my office.

That day was on Friday, most of our Muslim colleagues had gone to mosque for prayers. when I reached my office sat down to charge my phone, one of my friends came to me and said we should leave the office since no work is there to do, I told him ok, that I will soon join him. Later I left the office and met him in a place where we used to stay and gist. While I was there with him, I was not comfortable at all, I now told guy please am not comfortable here that I am going back to the office. I left immediately. Reaching to the office I sat down, within 2 minutes one cement dealer worked in and was appreciating our efforts and was giving away 2500 naira each person in that office, my brother i was marvelled. I said God is that how you work? Because i was left with 350 naira but now God multiplied it in thousands because i reached out to someone that needed help genuinely.

So when you in a position to help please do, because it will still come back to you. God must surely replenish it .

Eeyah, I remember one fateful evening I was strolling back home from work and a man came begging, his children have not eaten since two days, his job they've not paid him. And he feels so ashamed going back home with nothing and please even if I have rice or garri at home, he will take and that's all he needs.
I sighed, I shake my head. I said look I'm coming back from work, that's my house over there . I don't have cash on me but I'm about going to the ATM to withdraw. Come back to the gate of that house in the next 30mins, I will give u something . He said OK, with sad face. I was like eeyah. I got home, changed and head to the bank.
I came back fee minutes past the 30mins. I stood at my gate waiting for the guy.
Then from afar I saw him with nylon bags and yams. With huge smiles on his face greeting almost everyone on the street.

So I waved at him and he came, was smiling. I was like wow! Who gave u all these? He was laughing.. He pointed at one grocery shop, he said the madam and she gave him all these, two paint of rice, 1 paint of garri, semovita, two yams, beans, and tin Tomatoes..i was like wow! God will bless her o.
So I think he begged everyone on the street, so they were happy when she gave him. All those things.
I then said OK Thank God. This is my. Own share, take this 2k, I know it's not much but use am buy soup ingredients. He was almost crying with joy. Then he left, with all his hands filled up. Mehn people are suffering.

Sighs

The emphasis was more on his life story and lessons he learnt and not on the giving. Try to find the purpose in any action before criticizing the action. Read and peruse next time, my friend.
No matter what you do, even with good intent, some people will still find a way to criticise. They always want to stress on the dark side of things. Those people are the major reasons our country is stagnant or backwards. Yet they cast all the blames on the government.
