It is not a scam it is actually a bilateral agreement between the government of Nigerian and USA. For instance, if a U.S citizen wishes to visit Nigeria that person needs to apply for a Nigerian visa and if the applicant fails to meet the requirements then the applicant will be denied a Nigerian visa without a refund. Please get it into your head a visa is not a right it is a privilege. The American embassy don’t force any one to apply for their visas and they made it clear that visa fees are non-returnable so don’t pretend like you are not aware of that. There is absolutely nothing you can do about the high denial rates because too many Nigerians are involved in violation of the terms of theirs visas by visa overstay. It is their country and you can’t tell them what to do. profjustine458: 12 Likes 1 Share |

Hey guys, I got my B2 visa finally and I have been preparing my visit to the US. I fly from Lagos to New York (JFK) next week Wednesday. I saw in some threads that there are US customs border agents in Istanbul. (I will be flying with Turkish). If at all I get screened in Turkey, does it mean they stamp your passport there and no need to be stamped in US? Sorry it's my first time visiting the US but I have never had issues travelling within Africa and Spain. God bless. |

Sometimes I wonder where people get these strange information. C.B.P which stands for U.S. Customs and Border Protection only operate on the U.S soil. When approaching the U.S air space the airline will issue you a declaration card so make sure you fill it correctly as it is a legal document. You will met the U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the official U.S port of entry (Airport) and they will take your finger print, capture your face on the camera then input your i94 record on their data base. Very simple Adaku1988: 2 Likes |

skdfu747:No please @ the boldened. The United States federal government operates border preclearance facilities at a number of ports and airports in foreign territory. They are staffed and operated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers. ... Preclearance exists at most major Canadian airports. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_border_preclearance 2 Likes 1 Share |

Hi all, I know I will be getting lots of Yabs and criticism on this post but that's ok. Pls, I need your advice. I have an appointment for an interview in Lagos embassy 9 days before the scheduled conference. I don't really feel too comfortable going for an interview on the 1st of August for a conference that will start on the 9th and yes this is my first time applying and I definitely have no travel history. My parents were planning on sponsoring my trip but my mum's sister stepped up and wants to sponsor my trip. She lives in the US, what are ur thoughts about editing my DS 160 and letting them know my aunt will sponsor me. The only tie I have is that I will be called to the bar pretty soon. I'm not gonna live my life long dream to run away in the US. So pls, what do u all advise, be plain honest and let them know that I know someone in the US (my mom's sis) and that she will be the one sponsoring this trip or just leave it the way it is that my my mom is paying |

Princessjo: What value is the conference to your current life and you need stronger ties to Nigeria, I will advise you to convince your aunt to sponsor you for conference in another country in case U.S reject you. 2 Likes |

Well done great people. As a permanent resident of Canada who is still in Nigeria without any travel history, what are my chances of getting a visa with my father to visit my brother who has a green card and will sponsoring the trip? My only ties to Nigeria are my spouse and child. Is it better for me to first travel to Canada as a Permanent Resident and apply for US visa from there? Is there a likelihood of me being given from Canada rather than from Nigeria? I'd appreciate your responses |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by anfanio: 12:20am On Jul 13, 2019 |
1mole1: As a Canadian resident you are required to apply for Visa from your country of residence (Canada) but since you have not landed I would suggest you should not 'create' stories for yourself. Go to Canada apply from Canada and let your Dad apply for US visa alone. Be mindful you have a resident "visa". 2 Likes |

1mole1: Don't just apply on getting to Canada to avoid denied.... Apply when you got a job, give time like 3months and apply, you still need to show a little tie to Canada, remember you still hold a green passport 1 Like |

Hallo House. Quick question: I've noticed from some transcripts I read that VOs don't generally ask for bank statements and letters of invitation again. How true is that? It's been a long time since i did Visa interview (I've been using dropbox for a long time now). My family and I intend to visit for a week on holiday and then on to another country as well so I'm wondering what kind of documents would be required. My spouse and I both have good jobs at multinationals so we don't intend to jappa there. Lol. Any advice good advice is welcome. Thanks in advance. |

LEGHEND: If your intentions are true and straight forward, go ahead and apply. But do NOTE the US isn't favorably disposed to issuing visas right now, especially if the intention is not strong and convincing to them, and you must be able to establish your intention to return back home. Going to see a Fiance is not exactly a strong reason at this point. |

When it comes to U.S tourist visa the consular officer is not concerned about your American fiancée they are actually concerned about you as an individual instead. What ties do you have to your home country? How can you convince the consular officer that you will return after your stay? These are questions you need to ask yourself. Also note that the U.S tourist visa is really hard to get these days. LEGHEND: |
