I like to look at things from different perspective, so let me rephrase your question.
what will you advice your sister to do, if your family (dad, mom, siblings, relatives etc) advices her not to marry her man?
or what will you advice your brother to do, if the above was true in his case?

now back to your question,
answer - a man is a man whether he takes a heroic path to stand and stay with his woman or whether he listens to the advice of his elders ( that is family and friends) . the most important thing is that whatever decision he takes is his OWN, and ONLY his OWN!
cause in the end he alone will either reap the benefits or the loss.
